Consulate Review: Ankara, Turkey
Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : June 16, 2022
Embassy Review : The process was very efficient. I showed up 45 minutes early, was let in around 20-30 minutes before my interview. You get a number, and wait for the screen. First time, I delivered all the documents, was asked to submit many of the documents I had with me. Then, I started waiting again for my number. This time, I had my interview. I was asked to swear to tell the truth, my finger print was taken. And then I was asked a couple of basic questions: When did you meet your spouse? How did your relationship evolve over the years? When did you move back to your home country? And then I was approved. After approval, I received my passport in mail two days later. Overall, very positive experience. I was in there probably around 90 minutes and the actual interview was only 5 minutes.
Rating : Very Good

About a month left for you now 😉

hi Pravin. I am hoping that that's the case. Latest I saw was a November approval and my pd is December 14. I am really tired of waiting and I hope that it gets approved in the next month or two. The same with you too! Our priority dates are pretty close.

Omg... Uscis updated the processing times.. Again.... 10-13 months now..

My PD is Dec. 21. So tired of this now. This will be only half way too because of the NVC timings going up as well.

Don't worry, NVC timings might get better towards the winter when we are at the NVC stage. I think in the summer, people go on time off, that's why NVC timeframes get longer.

I see you got approved, congratulations! Our interview is next month in Ankara. Is there anything you would have liked to know going into the interview? After the interview, did they immediately tell you you were approved? Are you waiting for your passport or anything in the mail? THANKS!
blank avatar Gozde on 2022-06-06 said:
thank you! 1. make sure to have 2020 and 2021 tax transcript or returns, they picked them up from me. 2. the entrance of the visa section is towards the back of the complex, the embassy is huge, might be good to check out the exact location before your interview date. 3. good luck! they didn't ask too many questions to me.
Da & Nu on 2022-06-06 said:
Thanks so much for the helpful advice! Afterwards did they immediately tell you you'll get the green card? Are you waiting for any mail or anything before it's official?
blank avatar Gozde on 2022-06-06 said:
yes they told me i was approved. :) I was a bit shocked and she told me I am good to go and I will receive it via PTT. I received an email notification the next day that my visa is approved and another day later (two days after the interview) I received my visa.
Da & Nu on 2022-06-06 said:
So happy for you! I can really say that as someone else who has been going through the process. ;) Thanks again. Yolunuz açık olsun!

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
