Comments : Once approved they give a sheet of paper saying an email will be sent with the tracking# and if after 3 weeks you do not get it then email them.
I expected the email to be sent immediately with a way to track the delivery (like buying something from amazon) but that is not how it works.
They send you the email when the passport is ready to be picked up and not before, so you could be waiting, like we did, for a week or more to get the email.

Consulate Review: Juarez, Mexico
Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : September 12, 2023
Embassy Review : The experience with consulate personnel was very nice. They were attentive and friendly. The CAS personnel is very nice and patient. Security personnel are very understanding and patient too.
Thursday We arrived 1 hour before the biometrics and they let us in as there was no line.
Tuesday We arrived 1/2 hour before the first meeting and the line started to move almost immediately. Most of the time inside was waiting for like 2hrs. Family can wait in the medical clinics next door if you want.
Wednesday embassy closed
Thursday arrived 1/2 hour before the meeting and again the line stated to move almost immediately. almost 4 hrs inside but no incidents.
After waiting until monday to get the email to see if we could pick up the passport in Juarez we gave up and change the delivery to the CDMX CAS.
Email arrived thursday.
I suggest not to wait in CD Juarez if you can request it sent to your city of origin.
CD Juarez is the worst possible place the US could have put the consulate.
I would give a rating of 4 to the consulate because they do not explain to you that the email will arrive when it is ready to be picked up, not like purchasing something in amazon that you get the email immediately with a tracking number.
The Overall experience in CD Juarez Rating of 1. Boring, Hot, Dusty.

Rating : Good

Approval from National Visa center came on July 2022 saying that they will send the packet to the US embassy in Mexico to schedule the appointment. It is my understanding that it will take another 6 months to get when will be the appointment.

Hi, I was wondering if you had an update on your case. Any luck with having an interview scheduled? Wishing you the best of luck.

thank you. We got an email on June 16 2023 with the interview for August 8th.

Thank you so much for responding. Wow, it took almost a year from being DQ to being scheduled an interview. This process is truly excruciating. Good look on the interview. Wishing you very well.

For us, there were no "packets" or information about the dates when NVC sent the "packet" nor when the embassy got them or anything else. I got so far 2 emails 1) June 16 2023 with the interview for August 8th. With instructions to file the courier info and schedule the biometrics appt, and links to see the checklist of docs. 2) On June 26 2023 got an email after the biometric appt was scheduled 3) I have not yet been able to schedule the medical appt in CDMX. https://www.mei-mexico.com/contacto.html They only give appts within 2 weeks prior to the interview date. 4) On July 19 got an email from CDJIVPrescreening@state.gov reminding us on the interview appt. More explicit instructions but basically the same as the June 16.

Thank you for all the information. The process is so overwhelming because of the anxiety of making a mistake and causing a time delay. My husband lives in Cabo, so he will most likely have to travel to CDJ once for the medical exam and again for the interview, but that is just us assuming because so much of the process is unknown and not transparent. I hope everything goes well for you both. I’m sure it’s a wide range of emotions you are dealing with.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
