My wife and I met in Mexico for four months starting in mid-November. Unfortunately, about 2 weeks after we arrived USCIS approved our I-130, meaning we made 0 progress for almost the entire 4 months (we couldn't submit to NVC because she needed to do a finger print for the police report in Arg). Huge bummer that cost us 3.5 months.

After submitting to NVC on 4/9, on 5/13 we received notice that several of our documents were rejected: - police certificate was missing a checked box (1 second fix) - marriage certificate didn’t have a stamp translated - one signature was thought to be electronic Re-submitted to NVC on 6/2/21. I hired a lawyer to oversee the process as I couldn’t stand a single delay more. As the lawyer submitted all of my corrections it turned out to be unnecessary to have hired her.

On 7/22 (today) we received news from the NVC that we are documentarily qualified.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
