Consulate Review: Islamabad, Pakistan
Review Topic: Waiver/Admin Review
Event Description
Review Date : March 9, 2021
Embassy Review : Interview went good,
(They were firstly asking everyone for their original marriage and birth certificate)
Questions asked :
How did you meet your spouse?
How many times you visited States?
How did you meet your spouse family?
When did you get married?
Do you have any kids from any previous marriage?
Why did you get married in the states? ( this was asked because we got married in USA)
Do you have any relatives in the state?
Where did you stay when you were in the States?
Did you travel any other countries ?
Can you show me your wedding photos?
(He looked through the whole album and randomly pointed out a few people asking who they were)
Then asked for my co-sponsors most recent Tax return, which I had, while looking through he then asked for my co-sponsors 2019 W-2 form which I didn’t have with me, since that wasn’t a requirement for me to bring)
At which he said that I need to submit the 2019W-2 form at CEAC or drop it off at the pick up location on travel docs,
He then kept my passport and my co-sponsors 2019 tax script!
I then asked if I will have another interview or have to come back , he replied “No, just submit the form”

In conclusion even though the interview questions were simplex, him asking for the W-2 form which nowhere in our case was a requirement and we had both 2018 and 2019 1040 tax forms,

Case currently in administrative review!
I would recommend you guys to take any forms relating to taxes
Hopefully this helps some of you guys too!

Hey! No they didn’t ask for police certificate, on their website it states police certificate aren’t a requirement anymore from Pakistan but we had a new one made too just in case, also yes you can select IR1. They asked for most recent tax filed of our co-sponsor which was 2019 for us but yes take both 2019 and 2020 taxes!

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
