Comments : Medical results took one week. Appointment on November 8th. Phone call to say they’re ready to be picked up November 15th.

Had my interview on the 30th of November and was approved! I was asked for my passport, DS page, affidavit of support, police cert and birth cert. Had a long wait after this for the actual interview, about 35 minutes. He asked simple questions - how we met / why we are getting married in the USA instead of here / what age is he / where does he work / what our plans are for the wedding and then said everything looks good and I should have my visa in 5-10 days

Embassy Review : I had my interview on the 30th of November and was approved!! It’s definitely not as scary as it seems and goes smoothly once you had the correct paperwork.

My appointment was at 1pm and I arrived at 12:50. I was brought into the security room and put my belongings in a tray. It was very much like airport security. The guards put my mobile phone in a locker and gave me the key to be worn around my neck and directed me to the right of the building where I met another police officer who directed me to the visa processing. At this point I was the only person in the room but it’s soon started to fill up with 4 other visa applications behind me and about 8 people waiting for passports on the other side of the room.

I was called to the desk after about 10 mins to hand in my documents. He asked for:
• passport
• 2 pictures
• DS-160 page
• birth cert
• police cert
• affidavit of support ( I-134)
• supporting documents for I-134 (2019 & 2020 W2 and 2019 & 2020 1040s)
• sealed medical results

He then told me to take a seat and I would be called for my interview. I waited for approximately 35-40 minutes before I was called. It was a very brief 5 minute conversation and seemed very casual.

He asked me:
• how did I meet my fiancé and what year
• has he ever been to Ireland
• what were you doing when you lived in the USA
• what’s your fiancés name and what age is he
• what age am I
• what does your fiancé work as
• why did you decide to get engaged and do this visa. Why not get married and go to the USA that way

After answering all the questions he told me everything looks good to go and you should have your visa in 5-10 days. I kind of froze when he said it because I was so shocked that it was that quick and easy but he told me I could go now 😂

Overall it was a pleasant experience minus the wait time in between handing my documents and waiting for the actual interview.

For people who have interviews coming up the main thing is to be calm because it’s pretty relaxed in there and just have all your correct documents!

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
