Hi! My partner (Belizean) and I are currently awaiting our NOA2. Our NOA1 was in September 2020. We've been waiting for more than 10 months and following your timeline since your NOA1 was around the same time. Would love to hear about your interview experience, if you don't mind - hope all went well for you both!

Hello! First, my fiancée and I (the Belizean) really feel for you both, we can imagine what you're going through right now. Our estimates for NOA2 are 9 months plus or minus one month. So you guys are almost there, if that time passes and nothing, definitely look into how to actually reach USCIS about it. Just keep looking at your case status on the USCIS website, that's how we found out 2 days after we had been approved on April 30. The letter got to us a week later. Second, yes, my interview was yesterday but unfortunately I couldn't have my medicals done on time because (1) the only radiologist available that was supposed to sign off my x-ray was on vacation and (2) the test at medical associates still hasn't come back from the US so our case was put on hold until we get the medicals to the embassy. I finally had my x-ray done today and we're hopeful that we can get everything in by Friday because our wedding is in 3 weeks. Honestly, the moment you guys get the packet from the embassy via email, call one of the panel physicians and be ready to go get those medicals done either that same day or the next morning. The interview itself was straightforward. General questions like: Who is petitioning me? Where are we going to live? How did we meet? What do I do for a living? Am I planning to work? Have I committed any crimes in the past? Have either of us been married before? Do I have any children? Who picked the venue for the wedding? Where will the wedding be? What is the cost of the wedding? What was the cost of the venue? That being said, have your co-sponsors if you need one (follow the guides on here) and gather recent evidence of relationship to take to the interview. And last but not least, definitely wait until you hear about your interview date to set your wedding date with enough padding to have time to deal with medicals not coming in on time, for instance. We will be updating our timeline as soon as we hear back. Happy to help!

We just got our approval, after waiting nearly 11 months (and after submitting two case inquiries, an Ombudsman report, and reaching out to local congressman and state senator)! Thank you for the tips surrounding scheduling our medical ASAP. Has the embassy received your medical information? Have you had any additional movement with your case? We're really hoping things will continue to move, despite covid rates worsening.

That's great to hear! We just got my visa today! I was finally able to submit my medicals this past Thursday, however, the embassy was efficient in having my visa ready for today, Tuesday. The medical associates test ended up taking 3 weeks. Yeah, just get through NVC and it should move "faster" after that. All the best to you guys!

Was your green card interview waived and you were just sent the approved card in the mail?
blank avatar Hemac on 2022-10-15 said:
We didn’t have an interview for some reason, I’m not sure I can call it a waive. We just woke up on the 9th to a USCIS notification that my application was approved and at the moment we have a USPS tracking number for it. This is the most luck we’ve had since the beginning of this process.

That’s awesome that the interview was waived and you got the green card today! Congrats!

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
