Comments : June 7 sent package
June 8 they received it(validated again in a Nov 15 email reply from my email inquiery. NVC called it a 'Priority date')
June 18 '07 check cashed got WAC#
as of Oct 18 no progress per USCIS
NOA2 arrived in mail Oct 20, go figure
Got an email reply from NVC because I sent a question as to if and when it was sent to Rio. I later got email on Nov 15 that it was sent to Rio and it included our new case number.

Got tired of waiting for the stupid pakt 3 so I called embassy and they said that its ok to mail in ds230, ds2001, the 2 pics required, and copy of passport. We used SedEx and arrived Dec 14. As of Jan 3 they finally put the packet 3 info in the system which they say will generate an interview date which they dont know how to tell you what the date is. Now they say the superviser sets the interview dates which will be the second week of Feb because they are all book for Jan and no interviews during Carnival. So Im going to call twice per week to find out if they are working or not.
GOT THE INTERVIEW DATE OFF THE EMBASSY WEBSITE. I kept calling and they did not tell me. Another VJ'er told me about the site to check the dates. http://www.embaixadaamericana.org.br/index.php?action=materia&id=2414&submenu=rio.php&itemmenu=86

Adriana still has not recieved the packet 4. Good thing we sent in everything ahead of time.
UPDATE: Visa granted on the 29th but since they use some other contractor to mail the passport, it has take a long to time to get to her. If the sponsor is there at the interview then request your fiance be given the visa after the interview because your leaving. Or take a hand written letter from the sponsor requesting it then otherwise you have to wait and pay for the passport to be mailed costing twice the normal overnight cost and is slower which is unnecessary and is just lining some politicians pocket. We go thru the hell and the interview was only 3 minutes max (good thing). They like to be done before noon because its lunch time for them and they want to work as little as possible. This whole experience was just one giant money makeing scheme for the government and their buddies. It wasn't long ago that this only took 3-4 mos, now it takes 8 and they advertised 6 mos last June when we filed. June is the worst month to file. The American lady who interviewed Adriana was really nice to her. Everyone was granted the visa or got it pending further documentation, but there was one sweet girl who did get harrassed by the male interviewer. Not sure what happed because they are finished with us at noon and everyone had to get out. But she had to stay waiting until they were done with their lunch break. Now we are on to part 2. Good luck people. OH, DRESS WARM BECAUSE THEY LIKE TO MAKE YOU AS COLD AS POSSIBLE IN THE WAITING AREAS!!

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
