Event Description

Embassy Review : My interview overall went well. The staff were friendly. I had to wait on the sidewalk for about 15-20 minutes before the security guard let me in. Once entering the building there was an Xray machine to check through my stuff. My cellphone, charger, and headset were kept at the security area. I was then directed to a second building. Inside there were multiple windows (like bank teller windows). I was directed to go to one of the windows where all the documents were submitted. The documents asked were the same as mentioned in the previous reviews. I was then told sit down and given the orange paper to read.

After about 15 minutes, I was called to come to a different window. The officer was friendly, he welcomed me to the embassy. Before the interview began, I took an oath that everything written in the documents and all my answers are true. Then my fingerprints were taken. The interview then began. These were the questions I was asked:

1. How old are you? How old is your fiance?
2. How did you meet?
3. Have you met his parents? His siblings? What are his siblings' names?
4. Has he been to Indonesia?
5. Has he met your family? Do they approve of your relationship?
6. What does he do for a living?
7. Where does he work? What kind of company is that?
8. How much does he make?
9. What do you do for a living?
10. Are you going to do the same job when you're in America?
11. Have you ever been to America? How long did you stay in America?
12. Have you or your fiance ever been married before? (this question was asked 4 times!!)
13. Do you have any kids? Does your fiance have any kids? Do you and your fiance have any kids together? (this question was asked a lot too)
14. Have you ever lived abroad for more than 6 months?
15. Where does your fiance live? Who is he living with?
16. Where is your fiance from?
17. How did he propose?
18. When are you getting married?
19. What kind of wedding are you going to have? Where are you getting married?

After that he said your visa is approved and gave me the white paper that says "Congratulations! Your Immigrant Visa has been approved." And that was my experience.
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
