Consulate Review: Juarez, Mexico
Review Topic: General Review
Event Description
Review Date : February 5, 2020
Embassy Review : The officer that interviewed my husband did not seem to understand Spanish very well and so he questioned my husband repeatedly about an old arrest. After he repeated it a few times, the officer asked him to "say it differently", but our lawyer had said to be sure you're saying the same thing each time, so my husband didn't understand what he was supposed to say differently about the incident. The officer gave him a 221g form and requested more records regarding that arrest. Those were sent back within 3 days and showed received at the consulate the following Tuesday, and no action has been taken for over 7 days. There were other people there that interviewed and were missing original documents, and they were approved immediately. It doesn't seem wise to have someone working in Juarez that doesn't understand Spanish.

Hi there! What was the date of your NOA2?

It was 12-24-2015. It took a year and a half after that for the I 601A Waiver to be approved, and another year after that for his interview to be scheduled.
