Hello Alison! I'm currently waiting on package 3! But everything seems to move smooth... Prepare your documents for the interview!

That is great to hear! 😃 Did they give you a list of documents or are you going off the list on the visajourney website?

I'm waiting for the official list I should get from the embassy but I haven't heard from them in about a month... Only that "they will send it soon"... I think I will wait a little more and if they dont reply I will schedule my interview on my own and use the list from visa journey to guide me

I see a bunch of people saying that you can do it on your own but I am sort of confused as to how it's possible. After reading the thread you started, I understood that you have to do lab work (not sure what exactly or how to know what labs), get a medical examination (not sure how to schedule the appointment but Dr. Dennis was recommended in the post), and have the form sent to the embassy (I think the doctor does that? I'm not sure what form exactly). This part can be done ahead of time. Did you see any other info out there about this that I am missing? Have you already started this process? Then there is also the biometrics and the interview. I think this is the part that you were trying to do ahead of time right?

What Im doing now is gathering the documentation while im checking the website https://ais.usvisa-info.com/es-co/iv/information/k_visa to pick the best appoiment date for my schedule (April dates). Now there are only appoiments for March. Once you have your interview booked. Start calling doctors to book your medical. Then buy flights according to the dates you chose.

Awesome! Thank you so much for that website! I will have my fiancé create an account to look at the appointment dates. I assume the doctors know what exactly you have to do for the medical appointment and that they have the paperwork there at their office?

Your welcome!! I'm not sure about ir yet! I'll keep in touch with you when I find out more info! But yes, you should call the doctor and the doctor will select the best day according to your interview day. I know that you need some papers to get the medical like your passport and I think 2 passport photos... But I need to research more about it!

Thank you for all your help! I’m sorry to bug you again but I saw you got an updated list from the k1 packets someone... Any chance you could forward me the list? Alison.m.hensley@gmail.com. Also, did you wait until your record in the CEAC website said “ready” and “ready” before you scheduled your appointment? And last question... does your NVC case ID number have a CRS in the front? I’m wondering how to confirm it will be sent to bogota (which would have BOG In front).

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
