Consulate Review: Nepal
Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : December 15, 2020
Embassy Review : Our journey started with an injury and Evacuation that lead to needing a permanent residency for my husband due to on going medical needs.
The interview was on March 19, 2020 right when covid lockdown happened. His case was put into administrative processing. We waited until Nov. 23 2020 for a medical expiration in the medical needed to be redone.
The medical was unable to be uploaded due to difficulties so his medical was postponed for 24 hours until November 24 2020. Medical and passport was delivered to the Embassy by next day November 25, 2020.
My husband continued to stay in a hotel room waiting for the passport with Visa to return to the DHL for pickup until Dec. 14, 2020.
We had to email the embassy back in order to get the tracking number in order to pick up the Visa from DHL.
We were fortunate that we were able to get the case from administrative processing to completion. We are looking forward to reuniting this coming Sunday December 20, 2020 if all flights and customs go well.
The journey took way too long but we are glad that is almost over.

NVC Approved Household members. Now waiting on submitted documents to each section to be finalize to move off on number 6. If only there was a step by step visual instructions. YouTube helped but still took forever to get what communication I needed on what goes where.

IsltLekker thanks, I did the I-130 at the lockbox which was fast. Been waiting on documents partly due to my ability to know how and partly because they make me wait months before checking them again. I don't like that I don't have one person working on my Visa. I think that is why it takes so long. The bouncing from one visa to another cannot be efficient, can it?

We have an interview date, finally....sigh....now more waiting and then hopefully pick up the visa🙏

Is your interview in Kenya or Uganda? On the NVC site ours says Uganda.

It most certainly is and still waiting.
April M on 2020-08-08 said:
Just got an email from the embassy saying that our case is mission critical and that they're taking care of it soon. That was about 2 weeks ago.

They’re so slow my goodness.

Husbands interview was put into administrative processing because of the lockdown of covid on March 19th 2020. He had to retake medical Nov 23, 2020 because the original expired and then return to complete on November 24th because IOM could not enter the information onto the website and had to correspond with the embassy to get it to work. Husband waited in a hotel room until December 14th to be able to pick up his Visa at DHL. We are now making arrangements for his flight to the US.
