Consulate Review: Nigeria
Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : February 25, 2021
Embassy Review : My husband’s original visa interview was scheduled for 2-23-21. He received an email notifying him that it was rescheduled to 2-24-21. I made sure we practiced role playing the interview and went over possible questions he might be asked. He went to the US Consulate in Lagos early. He had a thick folder with our original documents, a separate folder with copies of all documents, and a photo album.

When he was called back, these were the questions he was asked:

1. What is your full name
2. Where does your spouse work
3. What is her full name
4. Have you traveled out of Nigeria/ How long where you there for
5. What do you do for work
6. Where do you want to work in the US/ What do you see yourself doing there
7. Can I see your photos

My husband said she looked at the first couple of pages and closed the album. She smiled and told him his visa was approved. She took his passport and told him it should be ready for pickup in two weeks.

We are still overwhelmed and overjoyed by this news. I don’t think it’s really hit us yet, we can now begin our lives together! God is faithful and this process only strengths our faith and our relationship. Be patient and know that your approval is coming! Love is worth the wait ❤️❤️❤️

Hey! I think I filled in a date in the wrong box. We were DQ’d today (10/7/2020). So we will be waiting for an interview. There is a group I am apart of and I have heard that the Embassy has started scheduling interviews starting in November. That gives us all hope!! Sorry for any confusion. God bless!

Pls someone should let me know if the date of completion is the day one received a notification that one is documentarily complete. Thanks
Evetskomplitz on 2020-12-21 said:
I mean Case Completed at NVC above. Is this same as the date one becomes documentarily qualified?
Kebe And Pridjet on 2020-12-23 said:
I believe the Case Completed at NVC is when you receive your interview letter. I just received my interview letter on 12/22/2020. In the letter it states that your case is completed at NVC and has been forwarded to the embassy. It also tells you when your interview has been scheduled. I hope this helps!
Evetskomplitz on 2020-12-24 said:
You are absolutely correct. however, if one keeps tracking on NVC Timeframes page,

You are absolutely correct. However, if one keeps tracking on NVC Timeframes page, Date of Case Completion is the date shown on the page as regards the 60-90 days NVC processing times. PLS HAVE YOU SUCCESSFULLY REGISTERED FOR COURIER SERVICES AND CONFIRMED YOUR INTERVIEW DATE VIA THE SERVICE?
Kebe And Pridjet on 2020-12-24 said:
I am not sure how to do that. I believe we created an account but I’m not sure how to confirm our interview date.
Evetskomplitz on 2020-12-27 said:
Keep going next next until you get to the last page. Mine is showing “There are currently no appointments available”. However are you don’t with your medical examination? If yes, pls like how much is the total cost? Which Of the two accredited facilities?
Kebe And Pridjet on 2020-12-27 said:
I found the page and set up an account. Mine also says there are no appointments available. I am not worried because we have an interview scheduled on our interview letter. We haven’t be able to get a medical exam scheduled. We are still calling. Hopefully we will be able to schedule something soon. I heard it costs N64,500 plus the vaccination fees. I also heard that most people are calling both to see which one they can schedule an interview at first.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
