Comments : Point of entry was Sumas Washington Sunday October 4th. It was quick and without issue. They didn't even look in the Uhaul, didn't ask to document what I was bringing. I had to drive the truck across by myself due to Covid restrictions, this was a new experience for me! The border agents were very nice and were surprised to see an immigrant visa. They said they hadn't seen one of these in a long time. I also had to bring my car, so my son-in-law drove it to the border. I crossed with the UHaul then I walked back across and drove my car across. The Canadian border agent gave me a Covid paper but said he was not going to make me quarantine in this situation. If you have to bring a car and a UHaul make sure that you just park the UHaul and don't have any contact on the US side before you walk back across to pickup your car. Also, remember to make sure your vehicle is US compliant before crossing. In my hurry I forgot to do this, BUT the US border agent was so amazing he just told me what I needed to do and said that he was not going to make me cross back into Canada with my car because of Covid. He said I'm just going to give you my name and if you are stopped and questioned for driving your car tell them Officer ---- gave you permission. I was so floored, he basically gave me permission for an import that was not legal due to the border restrictions. I am in the process of getting the letter of compliance for my car and then I have to cross back into Canada and then back to the US to do it properly after I receive it. (we live right on the border so that is not a problem) All in all a very positive point of entry experience!

I was supposed to have my interview on the same day. Is your interview scheduled to take place in Montreal?

^ So sorry I realized this was a dumb question as it literally says Montreal in your timeline 🤦

Congratulations on receiving your interview date! Did you expedite your case or did the consulate reschedule your interview by themselves?

The consulate rescheduled my interview. My original date was March 27!! 6 months delay.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
