Comments : We were not approved right away at the interview. The immigration officer said that although she was convinced of the validity of our relationship, all her cases were being reviewed. So we would have to wait and see if it was approved. She also said we hadn't brought as much evidence of our relationship as some people bring. We brought a photo album, evidence of having not only a civil ceremony but a big party/reception a few months later, a joint bank account statement, his name on the rental lease, and his name on the electricity bill. I asked what other kinds of evidence people bring, and she said she couldn't tell me specifically...not very helpful!
Anyway, it sounds like they want a lot of volume, bring as much documentation as you can.

Embassy Review : Aside from the long wait for the interview (5 months) everything went smoothly in the interview. He was asked my date of birth and the city I was born in. He got his visa the same day.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
