Comments : No expedite, got biometrics appointment and interview appointment surprisingly fast. Must be the office. Also: No reason to be nervous. Officer was really nice and told us that because of our approved K1 petition that our case is an easy case. Officer told me right after the interview that we are approved but that she has to do something before she can approve it officially.

Comments : The interview I had was for both the I-751 and the N-400, and I believe the N-400 is what expedited the process. The officer started with the N-400 portion, asking me the civics questions as well as the reading and writing test. Then she moved on to the I-751 and asked about my travel history, when my green card was approved, and details about my relationship - such as how my husband and I met and whether we’ve ever separated. Since my N-400 was approved, I won’t receive a 10-year green card, but I was told that my case was approved.

Comments : Received a receipt notice, biometrics reuse notice, and "case is actively being reviewed by USCIS" update, all on the filing date.

The interview I had was for both the I-751 and the N-400, and I believe the N-400 is what expedited the process. The officer started with the N-400 portion, asking me the civics questions as well as the reading and writing test. Then she moved on to the I-751 and asked about my travel history, when my green card was approved, and details about my relationship - such as how my husband and I met and whether we’ve ever separated.

Her system went down during the interview, so I never received a printed letter with my results. However, she told me on the spot that I passed. She mentioned that she needed to complete a few more administrative steps before the decision could be finalized, but based on everything we had submitted with the case, we should be fine. If anything were missing, she said I would receive an RFE.

My appointment was scheduled for 10:10 AM, but we weren’t called in until around 10:50. Combined with the technical issues and her needing to ask a supervisor for help, we didn’t finish until about 11:40 AM. Despite the delays, the interview itself was a very pleasant experience.

My USCIS account updated to "Case Approved" later that day around 5 PM.

ALSO MY INTERVIEW WAS IN FAIRFAX, VA.

The ceremony was great and I'm super grateful. I hope my timeline helps someone down the line!

Hi, did you expedite your case by chance? If so, what were your reasons (if you don't mind me asking)?

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
