Consulate Review: Ghana
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : December 12, 2019
Embassy Review : I was there at 6.30am and was out 8.55am. God is good and I was approved. Consulate Officer was very professional. She asked about 10 questions all relating to my fiancé and other questions about both of us. What he does, how we met, how we communicate, our wedding plans, etc.

Hi we have similar timeline, is it the embassy that will schedule the interview date?
blank avatar His&Hers123 on 2019-09-18 said:
Hello. At this moment am not sure. Am still waiting for my p3 from the Ghana Embassy on what to do next. I haven't scheduled my interview yet
blank avatar Mussman on 2019-09-18 said:
What’s p3 pls?. Do we mind if we chat on WhatsApp?
blank avatar His&Hers123 on 2019-09-18 said:
P3 is packet 3 which are instructions you get from the embassy in your country about your next steps including whether or not you will schedule your own interview or the embassy. It's basically information on your next steps.

Sorry am not sure I have all the answers you seek. I just followed other timelines here. I don't know much about the process myself
blank avatar Abamichelle on 2019-09-19 said:
@Mussman , you will schedule the interview after you get the packet.
blank avatar Mussman on 2019-09-19 said:
Okkk so is just about waiting for the next instructions. They forwarded the petition on 20th August and haven’t hrd from the embassy yet. Almost a month now
blank avatar His&Hers123 on 2019-09-19 said:
@Mussman same here. Hopefully we should hear something soon. We just have to wait until then.

I’m also waiting for next step and have a similar timeline. I submitted the DS-160 application and the CEAC status says ready. I think we just wait for the next info.

I thought you could schedule the interview once you get the information from NVC that the paperwork is being sent to the embassy in ghana so as to prevent your N0A2 from expiring and also to get an early interview date because it takes a while to get a date in ghana? Just a question please.
blank avatar His&Hers123 on 2019-11-06 said:
Hi.. I'll advice you wait for the packet three because between receiving our notice from NVC and receiving our interview date was 2 months and the interview date booked two months later. So total 4 months from receiving notice from NVC. However if you'll like to schedule an earlier appointment, I'll suggest you wait for a month before booking. Also when the NOA2 expires, they automatically extend it until you get your interview done. So no worries. Best of luck to you and yours😊

A big congratulations to you 💃🏽💃🏽 May God do it for us as he has done it you and your fiancé.

Can you please elaborate into details as to what the process was from the moment you got there til the time you got out please. As to the forms their took first and so on please. Sorry for the bother. Thank you
Nick&Fatie on 2019-12-12 said:
You are welcome Please what reply did you give when you were asked “Your wedding plans” if you will not mind😊
blank avatar His&Hers123 on 2019-12-12 said:
@Mussman Lol well I honestly don't remember all the questions. The ones in the review in my profile was what I remember. However two people questioned me. First where I submitted my documents. He asked me his address (which I didn't know 😂) and two times if am married? I just laughed and responded because he wanted to be sure.
blank avatar His&Hers123 on 2019-12-12 said:
@AlbieBio it's just a simple process. Oh what I remember and advice is keep your x ray file from the hospital at home. They don't allow it inside. I had to run out to give it to my mum who was waiting for me outside. Also there are some people outside who you can pay to keep your stuff till you return. From there, it's basically just following instructions like where to sit, forming a line, etc. Don't sweat it. It's a disciplined environment but quite pleasant. Everyone is just doing their job. Don't worry about who you're going to meet. As long as you're confident about your relationship, everything will be fine.
blank avatar His&Hers123 on 2019-12-12 said:
@Nick&Fatie we had plans to travel to get married still in the US but not where he lives. She had it in her files cos we had already booked a hotel for the wedding. However she asked if we had a date for the wedding and I told her the date. What I'll tell you is I got some of the questions wrong 😂 so it's not just getting the answers right. She was probably looking at my reactions to the questions as well. If I didn't know an answer to her questions, I tell her I didn't and sometimes guessed. But now I remember she also asked if we had a knocking ceremony which I answered "yes". She also asked if we had an engagement ceremony and I said "no"
blank avatar His&Hers123 on 2019-12-12 said:
@AlbieBio the only form that was asked frequently was the appointment confirmation which I had to show three times. The rest of the forms will be asked at the counter in no particular order. I was asked to put everything on the desk and handed over when asked.
blank avatar Mussman on 2019-12-12 said:
I went to get my medical report today but was told there is a new instruction from the embassy that henceforth the results will be sent to them directly so was given only the X-ray report. Has anyone experienced it too?
blank avatar Tish_Ghana on 2019-12-17 said:
Hi, did you get your visa yet?
blank avatar His&Hers123 on 2019-12-17 said:
No, not yet. Waiting for DHL to notify me to go for it. However it shows issued on the website. Don't know how long it's going to be 🤷🏽‍♀️
blank avatar Tish_Ghana on 2019-12-18 said:

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
