Hey!! Congrats on your approval. My fiance will also be going to the Amsterdam consulate. When you submitted your packet 3 and received your packet 4, did they give you an interview date? Or are you able to pick your own interview date? And how easy or quick was it for you to get the medical? Thank you so much!

Hello! Thank you very much, congrats to you both as well. Regarding the interview date, I have received packet 4 via email. The email contained information about making an appointment and the medical. As far as I know I have to make the appointment myself and no date has been set yet. I am planning on making an appointment with the ambassy this weekend, after my first visit to the doctor for the medical. Regarding the medical; I had the opportunity to choose between 3 doctors: either in Antwerpen, Brussels or Luxembourgh. I chose the one in Antwerpen, I called him and he tolld me I did not have to make an appointment, just had to come in during the opening hours (preferably thursdays he said). This is one of two visits, the first time to do the x-ray and the blood test and the second time for the envelope with results. The email will provide you with the stuff you need to take with you. I will still have to make an appointment and go to the doc, So all of this, I have read so far, tomorrow I will know more I hope :). Good luck on your process! If you have any more questions, feel free to ask. Thank you.

Thank you so much for your quick and thorough response! Sorry one more question, are you going to the Amsterdam/Netherlands consulate? I only ask because all of your doctors are outside of Amsterdam so just wanted to make sure since there is a medical available in AMS!
blank avatar Brookeandluuk on 2019-12-14 said:
Absolutely no problem. Yes, I am indeed going to the AMS consulate. The doctor in Antwerpen tolld me the doctor in Amsterdam recently quit, so that may be the reason the consulate set the doctor in Antwerpen up for the Dutch people. But perhaps your packet 4 may provide you with different doctors, a doctor in Amsterdam would have been nicer! If you have any more questions, please let me know.

Hey there! I'm a Dutch citizen applying for a K-1 visa and my case left the NVC yesterday. I was wondering if you would be willing yo share some information about your case, specifically about how you planned your interview because I'm a little confused when it comes to this final step of the process 😅 Did you have to wait until you received package 3 (and 4?) and did you make your appointment yourself or did the consulate simply give you a date? I found this website (https://ais.usvisa-info.com) on the consulate information page here and made an account and it gives me the option to schedule an interview, but I'm not sure if that's the right way to do it. Also, how exactly does the payment work? I believe there's a fee for the DS-160, when and how did you pay this? I'm sorry for asking so much, I'd really appreciate it if you'd be willing to help me out!

Hey there! Yes come progress made! We had to do our interview first and medical second (this week) or else our application was going to expire! Fingers crossed. Congrats on officially getting your visa! I hope your journey going on is smooth and good luck to you two!

Hello! First of all congratulations on getting your petition approved. I'll try to answer your questions as best as possible. Do not schedule your appointment before being instructed by the ambassy to do so (after receiving package 4 and the medical). As for planning the interview, once I had received note that the petition was at the NVC me and my fiance started gathering the proper documentation for the visa interview, and used the link below as a guide (you probably have already seen this). The visa application K1 guide: https://www.visajourney.com/guides/k1-fiance-visa/ Once your application reaches the US ambassay package 3 will be send to you. This again, includes a checklist of documents you need to show at the ambassy during the interview (for example a VOG, a birth certificate). Check out this link for the proper documentation if you'd like to prepare beforehand (choose the K visa category): https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Visa-Reciprocity-and-Civil-Documents-by-Country/Netherlands.html . Package 3 will also include an appointment request form, which you will have to sign and send back. Once the Ambassy will receive this, they will send out package 4. Package 4 will include instructions and requirments for the medical, making an appointment (and how to pay the fees (I paid mine via Ideal)) and the DS-160 form. The medical needs to be completed before being able to make an appointment. The interviews for K1 visa immigrants are, as far as I know, on Tuesdays 1pm. And will be scheduled via the link you have shared. The best thing you can do now, in my opinion, is study the websites and gather most of your documents. And wait untill you receive word from the ambassy! It should not take to long :). I hoped to have answered your questions. I do too hope this will help you on your visa adventure! If you have any further questions, feel free to ask. Perhaps some useful links: The general timeline for the K1-visa application: https://www.visajourney.com/guides/k1-fiance-visa-flowchart/ To track the status of your case (K1 visa is trackable as immigrant visa): https://ceac.state.gov/ceac/

Thank you so much! I have already gathered everything I need so all I have to do now is wait for the P3. Do you know by any chance if it's possible to schedule your medical before receiving P3 and P4? The consulate page here on VJ says it should be, but the official embassy page says they'll ask for your interview date and appointment page.

Hello again! @Ieeeeeees 21, very well prepared. In my case the ambassy assigned three doctors I could choose from (this was in package 4). The instructions they will give you will explain everything you need to do for sure :). After you have had your medical you can make an appointment at the ambassy. And I have a correction on my message earlier. In package 3 you will get the details for filling out the DS-160 form (which you will need for your medical aswell as your interview). I hope to have informed you well :), again, any further questions feel free to ask.

I already filled out and submitted the DS-160. I'm gonna try calling the doctor located in Amsterdam and ask if they still do the medical or not and if I can make an appointment in advance. If not, I'll just wait. I'm just incredibly impatient and wanna schedule my interview ASAP haha

Hello. I saw your case here on visa journey and was wondering how long it took after your biometric appointment for your interview to be scheduled. Thank you

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
