Comments : Once we finally got the interview it wasn't so bad, just all of the waiting in between. The questions they asked were along the lines of, " what is your husband's name, where does he work, where does he live?" Very simple questions I was very surprised. Some things I would have done differently is type our I-130 instead of handwriting it. We had issues where the messed up my wife's name and birthday in the I-130 that delayed that process some. Also I recommend staying on top of your case once it gets to the NVC. Do your research and get your documents prepared ahead of time and get them submitted right when your case # gets assigned and you will get through the NVC at a decent time. Good luck to anyone going through this process! I wish you all the best.

Hi, A, I am not sure if you saw my reply in my timeline, as you can see from the VJ posts, I was fall under IOE electronic filing, USCIS has processed my case super fast. In additional to that, I have been talking with US Embassy Tokyo since I started preparing I130, they pre-approvd my expedite request during our email conversation. Therefore, as soon as my case reached NVC, NVC sent the case to Tokyo right away, then had my interview date the second date. You can too reach out to their Immigrant Visa Unit and talk about your situation, they are extremely nice and willing to help!

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
