---Notes---
Began registration with US Embassy Kenya NRB on 2019-08-03, however we were stopped at the point after selecting the courier and were not able to pay or schedule an appointment. We had heard that the Embassy was giving priority to the DV Lottery interviews.

On 2019-08-05, the appointment availability opened up and we had a friend in Kenya assist with paying the visa fee ($265) by using the Safaricom M-Pesa option at midnight 2019-08-06 Kenya time zone.

After the payment was made on 2019-08-06, we are not able to schedule an appointment. The message the website is giving us is, "There are no available appointments at the selected location. Please try again later."

--Next Steps---
Continue to log in and check if available times open up for the interview.

As of Sep 1st, no openings yet for scheduling the interview.

I have called the US Embassy customer service lines (both US and Kenya #s), and no additional direction was given. Just to log into the visa account multiple times a day for any last minute cancellations that may open up an interview time. Additional openings are at the discretion of the Consulate.

FINAL STEPS:
As of Sep 6th, appointments opened up again on the ceac website for Kenya!
There were available dates throughout October and November. We selected October 16, 2019 for interview at 8:00 am Kenya local time.

**Updated note 1/17/2020, emailed the IOM clinic for medical exam according to Embassy/Consulate directions at iomnbomedical@iom.int **

For medical examination, we scheduled Oct 9 originally, however we followed the advice of scheduling 2 weeks in advance of the interview and rescheduled for Oct 1. (We did this to avoid any delays in case additional medical tests are needed - spot found in chest x-ray, etc).

Wed, Oct 16 - Approval received at interview.

Tues, Oct 22 - Visa completed by consular, and DHL tracking number received via email. 1 business day to be delivered.

Wed, Oct 23 - picked up passport and visa packet from DHL office selected.

Local US CIS Office Review: Atlanta GA
Review Topic: cis_topic
Event Description
Review Date : February 20, 2021
Embassy Review : I'm not going to give a good rating because we submitted all the requirements and the interviewer said my husband needed his medical examination (I-693). She found his vaccination sheet (3025) and it was submitted timely. For K1 process, a medical exam is not required if you submitted within 1 year of your exam overseas. Now his case is under review instead of receiving approval.

My husband came to US with K1 Fiance Visa and we submitted adjustment of status paperwork in Dec 2019.

The interviewer only took my husband into the room to be interviewed. The interview lasted over 45 minutes where she spent almost all of the time asking all the questions from the I-485.

The few questions she did ask:
When did you get married?
Where did you get married?
When did you arrive to the US?
How did you meet?
Is your wife pregnant (only because she saw me when she came out to call him in)?
Harassment Level : Poor

how did you select medical examination schedule?
blank avatar Star12 on 2020-01-21 said:
You can either email or call the clinic that the embassy has selected once the interview is scheduled. The clinic will ask for additional documents/information as needed.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
