Consulate Review: Nigeria
Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : January 10, 2020
Embassy Review : Had my interview yesterday at the lagos consulate 9/01/2020. Got their early enough for my 8:30 appointment, then went through the first security check, then asked to sit while he checked appointment letter and Ds260, then he wrote number on my appointment letter. We were asked to open the seal envelope (Medical Report), the man attending to us gave us a small slip to fill our info, after like an hour they selected some people to go into the consulate while others waited for like 3hrs before it got to my turn. entered though the security checks into the interview hall to wait in line for bio metrics. After completing my bio metrics they collected the medicals, birth certificate, marriage cert, police report, international passport and one passport photo then the long wait for like another 3hrs before i was finally called to window 19 for my interview.

after the pleasantries with male Co asked me to raise up my right hand to take the oat

- whos calling for u
- how did you meet
- who was the mutual friend
- what is his name
- where does he stay
- how old is your wife
- how did he get to US
- where is her place of birth
- whats the nature of her job
- what does she work
- whats her date of birth
- where does she stay in US
- Where was the wedding conducted
- has she met any of your family
- what they feel about her
- when did you start talking
- whats my date of birth
- what is the thing that bothers me about my wife
- have you been married before
- do you have kids
- has your wife been married before
- does she have kids
-have you traveled to US before
- why were you denied Visa then
- have you traveled out the country before

as i was answering all these questions he was giving me back my documents except the police report
After that he asked to see picture of us together which i handed over to him went through it and gave it back.

He didn't even ask the about whe i saw my wife cos i brought the photo album from our traditional marriage with me, he also did not ask for additional document like transcript, chat records and affidavit of support.

All along he kept on typing as i was answering the questions.

Co - I have everything i need to approve your Visa. handed me the first pamphlet for rights then another one for how to pay for the green card, and the last one for where i will pick up my Visa....... my advice know everything about your spouse, be calm and be confident

Do not try to answer any question you don't know, any question that you don't understand ask him to rephrase it so you can answer properly and be sincere with everything

Can you all please tell me what was the issue date on your visas? I'm wondering if it's the date of your interview or the date they actually print it off? It's important I guess in respect to the ban. The issue date has to be before february 22nd. Our interview is February 10th
Mac_skendy on 2020-02-05 said:
@caylinObinna4 The date will be written on your visa. The date on my own is 10th of jan. whc was the same date i saw on CEAC site whc shows the last date my case was updated
Mac_skendy on 2020-02-05 said:

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
