Consulate Review: Ghana
Review Topic: IR-2 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : September 2, 2019
Embassy Review : Interview for IR2 visa was successful..
saw very few reviews here before my interview so i’m putting this here to help anyone who is going through the IR2 process
arrived at the embassy at 6 o’clock for a 7:30 interview , at about 7:15 we were called to form a queue and entered in pairs of 5 ,
NB : You’ll go through security checks before entering the embassy
got inside and sat down for about 3 hours 30 minutes and was called by a Ghanaian lady to submit my Documents , she was nice to me and took my birth certificates, police reports , medicals, passport with two american size passport pictures
and asked me if i had any extra evidence with my Mum so i submitted some pictures, letters she sent me when i was in High school and my baptismal card ,
i was asked to go and sit down and be called , about an hours later , i was called by an American Lady and the interview begun
-Who petitioned for you?
-how old are you ?
-How many kids does your mum have ?
-Who do you live with ?
-What work does your mum do ?
-When was the last time you saw your mum?
-where do you school ?
-What course do you study ?
-Have you ever traveled outside Ghana?
-What was your purpose of travel ?
-Where does your mum live ?
-What type of visa did your mum use to go to the USA?
- When did your mum first travel to the USA?
she also asked if i have any more pictures with my mum and also if i had my weighing card with me ?

she kept typing as she was asking me all the questions and it was like a conversation, she was a nice person and at the end of the interview , she told me She will Issue my Visa ..

Tips
Prepare adequately, make sure you carry on as much proof as you can ,
BE HONEST
PRAY TO GOD..

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
