Comments : We completed our AOS interview on 7/7/2021. The interview went well, the interviewer asked for our legal documents, some of our updated photos together with family, and a copy of our leases together.

We received a letter indicating that "USCIS is unable to complete your case at this time ... Your case is being held for review." The interviewer informed us that a final decision should be made in a month or two.

On July 28 we got a message "We ordered your new card."

On July 29 we got a message "Case Was Approved." Now we just have to wait for the card to arrive.

Hi! I see that your interview is scheduled! Congrats! When is your "Ready to schedule for interview date"?

Thanks! It was "ready to be scheduled“ at the end of Feb 2020

hey guys, I was wondering how you got your AOS interview so fast? Did you guys expedite it? Our I-485 NOA date is 2020-01-14. We are still waiting for our interview letter :/
blank avatar SaAa on 2021-07-07 said:
hey guys, I am surprised that the interviewer said that the final decision would be made in a month or two! Usually people know the decision right away. Was there some key document that was missing?
blank avatar Pantshot on 2021-07-08 said:
Hi, the interviewer didn't tell us whether anything was missing. We were able to provide everything that she asked for.
blank avatar SaAa on 2021-07-09 said:
Ok I see...hopefully you guys hear the good news soon! Maybe the interviewer was just giving a very pessimistic date!
blank avatar SaAa on 2021-07-25 said:
hey guys...have you heard back the results from your AOS interview yet?
blank avatar Pantshot on 2021-07-26 said:
Nope, we haven't heard anything yet. Checking the Visajourney timelines, it looks like it's not completely unusual for it to take a few weeks - we're staying positive. We moved between filing the I-485 and the AOS interview, so we're guessing there may be some paperwork that needed to get transferred (other situations that we've read about in the forums are (1) the field office verifying that everything is in order on the I-693, or (2) the interviewer needing their boss to sign off on the final approval). How'd your interview go?
blank avatar SaAa on 2021-07-30 said:
congrats you guys!

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
