And they sent it by email? Its been 2 months for us and it's so frustrating. NVC said there is a note that they sent it but the embassy said to keep waiting. 🤦‍♀️

Once You get your NVC case number and you track and realized it has left NVC to Accra embassy, start medical and police clearance and then if possible book your interview a month interval.

Please quote into details the requirements that was stated in your packet 3, I just want to know what is so different in Packets 3 that you can not start gathering all the necessary documents once you see online that your file has been received by embassy and go ahead and book appointment to avoid too much delay?

Its just a letter saying to schedule your appointment do the medical and police report. It has the list of the hospitals u can go to do the medical. Then it has a way they want u to arrange your file when you come.

Hello, im sorry for the bother, our case just got to the NVC and on the Visa journey process, it says to fill our the DS-261 form as the next time but with ours, its saying to pay the a=AOS fee. I just want to make sure if that's what you guys got and if so, did you pay the AOS fee and then it completed the DS-261?
blank avatar Shesablackstar on 2021-03-20 said:
Hello. Yes you have to pay both fees first. They take a few days to process. After it was paid u will be able to click n go to the next step.

Hi One more quick question please. I am sorry for the bother. So I have friend whom after getting married in Ghana, still placed on the W2 as single because the HR department couldn't change it because their spouse in Ghana didn't have a social. I am in the same issue, I already filled my taxes this year and I filled as single because she is not here and doesn't have a social. do you think that would cause an issue and what route did you take please. once again I am sorry for the bother. I want to know so I can file for an amendment.
blank avatar Shesablackstar on 2021-03-21 said:
Not a bother.. u dont have to put ur spouse on ur taxes because they dont have a social or any type of status in the United states. The nvc knows that.

@Star, do you have an interview date yet?
blank avatar PEbode on 2022-08-02 said:
Was wondering if you guys heard anything on interviews yet and what months they are working on ?
blank avatar Shesablackstar on 2022-08-02 said:
None.. its still at nvc.

Wow, still no interview date yet. This is insane. You should be getting an email soon based on the info below, I think. If NVC has informed you that your case is documentarily qualified and it is awaiting scheduling of an interview at post, then you must wait for NVC to notify you of an interview date and time at U.S. Embassy Accra. Each month, the consular section provides a total capacity for IV applicants and interview to NVC. NVC will schedule interviews at post and send the visa applicant, the petitioner, and the registered agent/attorney an email noting the date and time. Since March 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic has dramatically affected the Department of State’s ability to process immigrant visa applications. U.S. Embassy Accra has resumed visa services as expeditiously as possible in a safe manner, however, operational restrictions and staffing shortages over the past years has greatly limited the number of IVs the consular section has been able to process. As a result, there is a large backlog of documentarily qualified IV applications waiting to be scheduled at post Accra. IV applications are scheduled and interviewed according to priority date. We thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to resolve the IV backlog in a manner that is fair to all applicants and recognizes the hardship that has been placed on all separated families awaiting their turn. https://forms.office.com/pages/responsepage.aspx?id=dFDPZv5a0UimkaErISH0S2vMq7BjMz9HvBd4XC6nX_hUQzg4UERMR1pCWDhZQURLOVUwNVZHMFJZUSQlQCN0PWcu&utm_source=google&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Accra+consular

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
