The interview was very smooth. The interviewer only asked the following:
- How did we meet? When? Where?
- How many times after that? Where, where, how long for those meetings?
We have met 4 times in 1.5 years long relationship and already met/stayed with each other's families so it was okay.
Then they finally said everything looks okay on the application. and that's it! |

Super easy and very friendly people.
The IO asked to submit the yellow packet, joked about if I really want to get married. Then asked when's the wedding? If there's anything planned?
He stamped the passport and asked me to accompany him to the visa room. He asked me to take a seat, I sat there for around a minute and they returned my passport, that's all!
Both officers smiled, wished me good luck for the wedding and for the new life in the US. |

Our initial interview was postponed due to covid19.
This time, the interview notice said not to be early and to wear masks otherwise they won't allow entry. We reached 30 mins earlier. Our USCIS interview agent was friendly. He asked us to show - Driving license, passports, birth certificates. Then he went through the file to see if any document is missing. He checked our original application, asked if anything has been changed. He checked our i-864, medical, address, photos, and other documents submitted already. He asked us to show the financial documents with both our names. We submitted our joint savings account, credit card statements with both our names, 2019 joint tax. He also asked to show the photo album and selected 10 photos from there. Then he asked us questions like when/how did we meet, when did we decide to get married, how long was the courtship period, where have we traveled after marriage. Then he said our case looks very straightforward and that's all. Overall it took us 2 hours. We were approved in an hour after the interview.

Timeline Comments: 1Did you get any 221g after the interview?
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
