POE Review: Seattle
Event Description
Entry Date : 2008-07-14
Embassy Review : For me it was pretty easy, mainly because I flew in with my wife. The Seattle airport has windows with US and International Visitors. I think you have to go through the lines until you get to an agent, and they will direct you to a waiting area off to the left on the lines. They will process your paperwork, (This can take 30 mins to an hour, depending on the day and how many first time immigrants are there) and they will take you back to one of the windows and log in your fingerprints and passport with the visa. Then you take the stairs or elevator down to the lower floor (You are on a second floor that overlooks the custom area)

Then you pick up your luggage from the baggage carousel, take it over to the custom agents. Custom agent will ask you standard questions about what your bringing in to the country with the declaration form you filled out on the plane. Then you will take your luggage to a conveyer belt. Then you will go down the hallway pass a guard to go an escalator to the luggage floor.

I stayed with my wife so it was easy for her. When she became a US Citizen and petition her parents for some reason they got separated. He went ahead of her and she got lost, After about 15 mins I had to walk down to the guard (past the signs that said no entry) and was about to ask the guard when I saw her being escorted by a Filippo airport employee. Never did find out why she got left behind .

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
