Event Description

Embassy Review : People on here has been really helpful so i'd like to contribute with this review and maybe it may help someone.

First off, i am in a same sex relationship and i happen to a Singapore PR from Philippines who lived in Singapore for over 30 years. My appointment was 0930hrs but got caught in a traffic jam so i was somewheat 5 minutes late. A security officer greeted me as soon as i got off the car and i proceeded to show her my interview email. She then directed me into the security room where i went through a scanner and my belongings through an xray machine. My cellphones and keys were collected (as i had an internet banking device attatched to it) and i was handed a number token for collection later. Once walking out of the security room there is a walkway slope that leads into the main entrance of the embassy and there will be two glass doors. The one on the left is for out going people and the right is for ingoing. A security officer opened my bad to look at the contents and while i would go through a scanner.

Once done another security officer directed me to the room i would go into. There was a small table at the entrance where some staff looked at my email and just told me to take a seat and wait for counter 7 to call my name. I waited for about 15minutes and a gentleman at the counter first took my passport and then asked to look at my IC which he gave back. He then proceeded to take my birth cert, no marriage cert (from the ROM of singapore and CENOMAR of philippines) as well as my police clearance from Singapore (this was the only photocopied piece that was returned to me. All other photocopy versions he took). As i had been in Singapore my entire life i did not have to present an NBI which he mentioned was very rare. He asked for my civil status as well as my fiancee's and if we have any children. He also asked for my affidivat forms and supporting documents After taking my papers he gave me the IMBRA phamplet and a form to use if i am required to sumbit any missing documents before asking me to take a seat and wait for my name to be called again for the interview. During this time you are asked to read the IMBRA phamplet.

I waited for about ten minutes before i was called to window 6 for my interview. The CO asked me to swear and oath with my right hand and then proceeded to take my fingerprints. I was asked
-where and when did i met my fiancee
-when did i meet her physically for the first time
-when were the rest of the times i met her
-how do we communicate and how often
-what does she works as
-are we both single and if we have kids
and finally asked if i understood what the IMBRA phamplet was for and to explain it to him. I told him it basically tells me what to do should i get abused. He asked what was i supposed to do to which i said 'call the cops' and was asked what number.

Once done he said he sees everything is in order and that he will get my visa processed. The only thing he returned was my original birthcertificate and ROM no marriage cert. He did not mention about my medcal report but i assumed there was nothing wrong as i saw it with the first CO and i had asked the clinic if it had been sent.

For the record i had been very apprehensive of going to the Fullerton Clinic because of the reivews i've heard of them and i was very relieved when another clinic was added. Pivot medical clinic. I had my medical done with them. They take about ten days to send your report and you will also get an email with a scanned copy of the medical form as well as Xray report. One blood test that is required will only be processed by the lab on tuesdays hence the time frame (it does not mean that you can only have tuesdays for your medical but it means they hold the blood tubes until tuesday to be processed). The clinic is also run by doctors and nurses who used to be from fullerton so therefore they know the process and what to do (except they are more efficient).

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
