Consulate Review: Jamaica Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa Event Description Review Date : February 28, 2021 Embassy Review : My take on the Embassy after a long wait(Nov 13, 2020). Don't Panic. I took a taxi for my 11:15am with my daughter instead of driving(for ease of parking) Got there a little early and waited then went in. Did the pre processing by submitting document and then interview. I had a conversation. I was not asked much question about my spouse. Daughter was asked about her last conversation with him, which was the night before. I noticed the night before I went that my husband's Tax transcript was for the previous year so I knew there was going to be an issue based on what the embassy requirement(it was) Interviewer asked for my police record (less than six month) (got it updated while appointment was cancelled)and when she asked to see tax transcript she looked disappointed as she has not granted a visa from I sat there all( AP) We both had visitors visas and she asked for both and cancelled them. She took both our passports and said she will be keeping them as I have everything in place except for a new Tax transcript. Handed me the Domestic Violence Paper and another for me to update the CEAC site with an updated tax transcript asap and send an email to the embassy. I did 1 month later(December 2020). Got a call from the embassy on January 27, 2021 that my visa has been approved and Interviewer was asking if my visa was cancelled told her yes. She then proceeded to tell me I had less than 1 month to leave the country as my medical expires soon. I asked if it was ok to tell my husband and she said yes. Mind you this is very short as I have assets in Jamaica. I got another call from the embassy in the evening pointing out that they understood my concerns and that the visa allows me to travel for a year and that I just needed to get landed in the US before the expired date. We went to the USA for a weekend the following week. Stayed for a weekend and came back to Jamaica. Our Green card and social security were delivered to my husband within 14 days of our arrival. We will be making multiple trips before moving in a few months.
