Consulate Review: Afghanistan
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : March 2, 2019
Embassy Review : After 2 failed attempts at self scheduling NIV appointments (my tenacity can't be tamed) he finally arrived at the official interview on 28 Feb 19. The interview went well according to his assessments. He said the interviewer was very serious and not at all interested in being swayed by his personality (lol), this is her job after all! He did get her to laugh a bit when asked if I had any children, he said yes and then she asked him to clarify. He explained that I have a cat as my child, for now! Anyways, he made me proud with his answers and intention and I, too, feel good with his feedback.
Unfortunately he was placed in AP; however, he was not asked to submit additional documents and none of the boxes were checked on the yellow slip. I am optimistic that this AP is normal and that his Visa will be processed soon - relatively speaking. He was asked to leave his passport, which he did. We're ready to be reunited after this long and sometimes arduous separation.

Cheers!

Hi Linda, first of congrats for your interview date, hopefully it all goes well. May I ask if you scheduled the interview date yourself or the embassy? Because I have been waiting for my interview date for more than 4 months. Still heard nothing from the embassy. TIA

Hello linda, I am the fiancee of an army colonel. We lived in Panama, but he has been transferred to DC. Do you think I can apply for an accelerated request? Thanks

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.

** Not all cases are transfered
