Comments : Venezuelan Embassy only responds to US citizens. (My E-mails were responded to the next day at ImmigrantCaracas2@state.gov) Do not wait for the package 3 to arrive by mail. Have the US citizen schedule a time via E-mail to have the Venezuelan citizen pick it up from the embassy. When everything is completed you do not need to send anything to the Embassy. Have the US citizen schedule the interview and the Venezuelan citizen must bring all documents that are required. Make sure the Venezuelan citizen brings copies of the E-mail from the embassy that confirms the date of interview/package pickup.

Comments : This process took far less time than we thought it would. Make sure you follow the filing and interview appointment instructions exactly. If your case is straight forward and if you can follow instructions, you do not need a lawyer. It is a waste of money because all they do is wait with you and then tell you the following: For the Interview, they are only trying to determine if it is a valid marriage. The officer said that 1/2 of all marriages that he sees are an attempt by the immigrant to gain citizenship by deceiving the American citizen. They can usually tell in the first few minutes if the marriage is valid. One indication that it is not, is if the couple is trying to hard to convince INS that they are a couple. (i.e. bringing far to many pictures or acting like sex starved teenagers in the waiting area)

Comments : This is the worst process and is filled with government inefficiency! The entry EAD only last for 90 days upon entry. The form (I-776) to receive permanent EAD claims that it takes 90 days to process. We were forced to have a legal ceremony immediately after entry so that there was a minimum gap between the expiration of the entry EAD and receiving the Perm EAD. She did not receive the Perm EAD within 90 days so she made an appointment at the local office and received an 8 month temp EAD. Three days later, we had our AOS interview and she received the stamp in her passport for perm EAD. I don\\\\\\\'t think it is possible for an immigrant to continuously hold legal employment during this process. I recommend he/she waits until receiving the permanent EAD to seek employment.

Comments : This was a complete waste of time and money for us. We received AOS on 11/2/04 which means that we did not need AP after this date. We also did not receive AP within 90 days of application as promised. The officer denied the AP request at the appointment because we did need it. Don\\\'t spend the money if your case is straightforward.

Estimates/Stats :
Based on timeline data, your AP may be adjudicated between October 17, 2004 and November 6, 2004*.

If this date range has passed or your application is past due per USCIS processing times then you should consider calling the USCIS to inquire on your petition. If you have been approved please update your timeline.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
