Consulate Review: Ankara, Turkey
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : June 16, 2019
Embassy Review : The interviewer merely opened the story of ours in front of him and asked critical points of our relationship from there. I do not have much to add because they were all personal questions like who was this person or you guys lived in US together etc. But I have to mention that the questions were clever. For instance: You guys visited Washington, what was the thing that you really loved in there or so you two lived in NYC, which subway ride you were taking. These are very clever questions to determine if you guys actually lived together and did what you told. Other than that the attitude of the interviewer was extremely nice. He was super smily and friendly so I think overall the whole interview was very smooth except the waiting part. The waiting part took ages and made me sweat a lot!
Rating : Very Good

Hey! What was the rfe about if you don’t mind me asking, and you guys both originally from turkey?

Merhaba! RFE was because we were missing a separate letter of intent to marry from the beneficiary. He is from Turkey, but I (the petitioner) am American born.

Hey! Congrats you both for your approval! I was wondering what does Packet 3 sent date means. Did you have to send some documents to the embassy in Ankara before being able to schedule an interview?

For us that was when we submitted the DS-160 form online. We didn't send any documents, no. Turkey is a bit odd as they don't send a paper letter or "packet," only an email, and the email just refers to a website with instructions.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
