Consulate Review: Ghana
Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : May 10, 2022
Embassy Review : My experience was a good one at the consulate with lots of questions asked however, it was more of a conversation and someone wanting to know our love story ! The consular was a white American woman.

Questions asked:

1. Consular mentioned my name for confirmation.
2. Asked to confirm my Date of Birth
3. She asked how I met my husband, I gave a short answer but she wanted more like a story.
4. She then asked a follow up question about our meeting
5. She asked if we got married during hubby’s first visit and I said yes
6. She asked if we had both the traditional and ordinance marriage on the same day
7. Consular asked if I was given cloth (“Ntoma) and drinks by hubby, she asked because she saw the gifts & items for the bride price whilst going through our photobook
8. She asked if it was our first marriage
9. She asked if we had kids
10. Consular asked if hubby had visited again after marriage and the number of times
11. She saw our 2021 baecation pics and asked if we had a photoshoot whilst going through the photobook and I said no, those were pictures taken during our trip when hubby visited, she smiled and said okay.
12. She asked the job hubby does.
13. She asked the job I do as well

The Consular went through all our proof of bonafide marriage submitted and later said I can see you guys uploaded a lot on ceac, I smiled and said yes… then she said everything looks okay and good so she’s gonna approve my visa… I said thank you and enjoy the rest of your day…..
AlThough the questions were a lot but everything happened soo fast and by the time I realised I was already out of there !

Visa got issued pretty quick as well as the pick up email from DHL ….
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
