I arrived really early to the US Embassy in Lima, i was alone, Just my parents with me, Doug was here in Lima the first week of december but then he had to go back for work, so we decided ill do it alone cus we were plenty sure we have everything OK for the interview.
I started to make the line at 8 am, inmigrant Visa line was Just two People, counting me, comparing with the tourist visa applicants it was really fast. I passed for the first ventanilla (sorry my spanglish), for this in the line one guy ask me for my passport, interview letter and my two pictures, and bend then together, so i give this to the lady, she verified the date and told me to enter for the preference door. In that moment i go into the embassy cus that first step is almost outside the embassy. So, i go in and passed the security control, the one that is like the airport, i had too much papers in my hand since they didnt let me in with a big folder i wanted to use to be more organized (so be careful with that, they Just accept regular folder).
After pass the security i passed to another place crossing a linda hall area without roof where is another place to wait for some applicants, but i shouldnt wait, they give me a folder with 4 steps in where it says the list of documents i should give the personas inside, the i pass to the Last place that is the place of the interviews where the COs make the interviews. I sit at the end of the room, with kinda 15 more People, everyone inmigrant visa appliers, and we wait til the first person called me, there where 4 ventanillas availables, the two of the middle where latin ladies receiving the papers and the others two where the COs making the Last interview. So that means that i passed first for a pre interview with one of this ladies and she ask me for the folder they gave me wihh the papers they require (original birth certificate of my husband, my birth certificate original, original marriage certificate, antecedentes penales, policiales y judiciales, the sealed envelope with my results and the passport with the two pictures, i took copies an translations but they give it to me back)
The lady receive the papers, open my medical envelope, gave me a CD was inside with my rx and ask me for Who was the person Who wants to take me, she confirms the address with me and ask me if it was our first marriage, it was faster comparing with the rest, then she gave me a plastified card where was the juramentacion, and a paper with informativo about doméstico abusse i could read to know more about when ill live there she said and ask me to take a sit and wait for the CO to call me. This one lady was training a guy to how to do it when she was attending me and she put the white paper with the DHL information between my file before pass it to the CO, im not sure if she already approved me but i Just wanna make a note on that jeje
The wait was Long, about and hour or more and most the People were approved, Just two cases were sending to administration proccess but i think it was cus they didnt answer well and were changing their answer.
The CO, finally called me make me to give me the jurament back and start to ask me Who was my husband?, tell me about his life where he Lives, when you met him?, when you decide to get married?, why you wanna live in USA? And the he told me ok congratulations your visa is approved and give me the white paper and i was so happy and nervous, he congrats me and wish me luck in my marriage and i go out to see my parents and to write Doug for the great news 💕🙏😍

CB23 thank you for the support. unfortunately our interview was rescheduled to 12/26 with less than 24 hrs notice due to the US mourning of George Bush... my husband flew here for the interview and everything. and to answer your earlier question after NVC accepted all our documents it took about 3 weeks to receive the interview date. i’ll keep you posted once we have our interview. and goodluck with your case!

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
