Comments : Today was my fifth time at the US embassy for an interview, the first time I will be congratulated.

Full transcript of the interview soon.

My interview was scheduled for 7am today. I got to the Embassy 6:20 am and joined the que for immigrant applicants 6:30am.

I was done with the security checks and appointment confirmation by 7:15am and I was given tag number 20 before proceeding to the main interview building.

The first step was the documents submission(Medical Packet, Police Report, a copy of international passport data page, International Passport,
Two passport size photographs, Affidavit of Support, Joint Sponsor if required, Appointment Confirmation, GTB receipt, DS160, Birth Certificate......my Local Government birth certificate was accepted even though I went with the NPC Attestation of Birth but it wasn't requested.....and all arranged between my international passport.

After that, I proceeded have my fingerprints done and waited for about 90mins before the main interview......there are seats available while waiting.

There were three pretty nice ladies conducting the interview and I was prepared to be interviewed by any of them.

At about 10:15am my tag number was called by one of the consular. I took my left fingerprints and an oath with my right hand.

QUESTIONS
1. Who petitioned for You?
My fiancee and I added her name.

2. How did you meet her?
I answered.

3. What year was that?
I answered.

4. What was she doing when you met her? She meant working or studying.
I answered

5. Has she met your parents?
I answered (my family are in the US)

6. Where does she live?
I answered (just city and state).

7. Where does your family live?
I answered.

8. What is she studying?
I answered with details of her two schools and when she will be graduating....May 29.

9. Have you ever been married?
Do you have kids?
Has she ever been married?
Does she have kids?

All these questions have been more of an interesting conversation.

10. What do you like about her?

I was about answering when she requested to see our pictures......It was at this point that I became very excited. Why? I had designed a very lit magazine style photo album that included our video chat screenshots, whatsapp call register, Instagram chat screenshots, Facebook chat screenshots and our pictures.

She couldn't hide her amazement when she saw it and said SHE WISHED HER HUSBAND COULD DO THAT FOR HER.... I was just blushing.

Her excitement didn't make her pay any attention to the answer I provided to WHAT I LIKE ABOUT MY FIANCEE.

She asked to know how my family got to the US and she told me my visa will be approved.

NOTE:
I had been denied visiting visas thrice (March 2015, July 2016 & March 2018) and a student visa (December 2016) before today.

No question was asked about my previous denials.

You have nothing to fear if you have been denied before.

Just pray very well, get accurate information and prepare very well.

It was a wonderful atmosphere today.

I return all the glory to GOD.

Port of Entry Review
Event Date
Port of Entry : JFK
POE Date : 2019-04-11
Got EAD Stamp : Yes,Passport Stamp
Biometrics Taken : Yes
Harassment Level : 0
Comments : This seems to be the easiest part of my journey so far.

There were three sections of entry at JFK...... Citizens and Permanent Residents section, Non B1/B2 visitors and ESTA section and B1/B2 and other visas holders section. I joined the non B1/B2 visitors section.

It was my turn after spending less than 3 minutes on the que and I told the officer that I was a K1 visa holder and he processed my passport in no time, collected my yellow packet and my fingers prints.

In less than two minutes he handed over my passport and other documents inside the yellow packet to another officer who then led me to the office where my passport was stamped.

I didn't spend up to 15 minutes there and to my utmost surprise I was not asked a single question....my passport was stamped for 90days and my name was called to pick it up and shown the exit.

I had to ask the officer if that was all and he said yes lol.

This can only be God.

Tips
A well filed petition goes beyond the NOA2 and Visa Approval.....it opens all doors that you need to pass through so easily.

Use the non B1/B2 visitors line to have a great experience at the POE.

Pray and smile.

Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : March 7, 2019
Embassy Review : The three women in charge of the IMMIGRANT VISA today were fantastic. I knew being interviewed by any of them would be fine.

VERY IMPORTANT TO NOTE:
You will most likely be asked the following questions
1. How did you meet?
2. Where did you meet?
3. When did you meet?
4. Your parent's and your partner's parent's consents.

IMPORTANT DOCUMENTS TO AVOID AP:
1. Medical Report
2. Joint Sponsor if Required

IMPORTANT STATE OF MIND:
The consular officers are there to approve your visa, they just want to be sure you are genuine.
Be confident, prepare well, pray and smile.
Rating : Very Good

My status on the stattracker shows ready, how best can i obtain an interview date?
blank avatar Drsmile on 2019-01-09 said:
You have to keep checking for available dates round the clock. Chances are higher at midnight and early in the morning, first week of the month. You can also send an email to support-nigeria@ustraveldocs.com to request for an appointment. Remember to include your case number in the mail and attach your gtb receipt and ds160 confirmation page as well. All the best

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
