Comments : Very pleasant experience. We had a hispanic officer (Puerto Rican) who questioned my husband in english. I told him he could speak to him in spanish because he understood so he started speaking to him in spanish. After he explained everything he stated that he could not believe that a romanian could speak very good spanish LOL. Then he asked for my passport, read my name and stated: Marisel Cruz from Chicago, Puerto Rican married to a Romanian lOL. It turned out to be a very nice experience and he wish us much success and happiness and congratulated us.

Event Description

Embassy Review : Our interview was scheduled on May 2, 2007. I have to say it was a very pleasant experience that we will never forget. After our "Case was complete" at the NVC, my husband contacted the Ambassey in Bucharest and spoke with a very pleasant woman and explain how he wanted to come home to the US before May 5, 2007 because we had a family reunion in Chicago, IL. This lady scheduled his interview for May 2, 2007 and contacted the NVC to have them expedite our papers so we can have our interview and go home in time for the reunion. Our interview was scheduled for 1:00pm. My husband was called to the window after turning in all the documents they asked for. All they asked was 3 very simple questions:
1. Where did we meet?
2. When did we get marry?
3. Did we have any children?
She then asked me if I spoke Romanian and I answered a little. She looked at my name and commented: You are Espanola (spanish)? I answered yes. She smiled and stated: I am also Espanola and it is very easy to learn Romanian when you are Espanola. She told us to have a seat and wait. Approximately 20 minutes later, my husband was called back to the window and handed his visa. That was it! They did not ask for any photos, we had our phone bills, etc. They did not asked for anything. It was a very pleasant experience and we give many Thanks to our heavenly Father and to that special lady who took my husband's call and made everything possible for us. We made it to our family reunion and surprised everyone there because they did not know we were coming.
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
