Comments : It was a long journey. I had to wait for almost an hour before proceeding to the pre-screening since my medical result wasn’t still available during that time and the lady said they will have to pull out my medical result first (I had my psychiatric evaluation, yes! Psyche evaluation!) Thank heavens when I saw one familiar face from slec holding envelopes! The pre- screening lady asked me loads of questions, how old is my fiancé, was he married before, does he have kids, do I have kids, his address in the US, how many times did we meet and the dates. After the torture from the filo consul, time to face the real challenge. There were like 3 denials before me, a family of 4 including. I was praying so hard that I’ll be interviewed by the American consul at window 59 and I guess, He was listening to me attentively. He only asked me 2 questions, how do we communicate. I told him through WhatsApp then he responded he doesn’t use WhatsApp, then I replied if only I could force him to be an apple guy then we could FaceTime or just iMessage but he is an android fan and I’m an apple fan and he replied, we’re the same. then his next question was how many times did we meet then looked at my files and confirmed the dates. Then he asked me to pick up a piece of paper and handed me 2 pamphlets and explained what are my rights as a k1 holder and what to do in case of DV. He was a very pleasant gentleman. I couldn’t contain my happiness at that point. I didn’t have it easy and I always look at the brighter side of life- that maybe I am not having it smooth sailing because He wants to test my strength and if me and my fiancé will be shaken by all these.
Tips: always wear a smile. Just answer what’s being asked confidently and don’t go around the bush.

-I was very lucky since I didn’t have any trouble during my entry. Not even asked a single question. The CBP officer was a lovely lady and so were the rest of the officers. They all gave me a very warm “welcome to the United States and best wishes on your upcoming wedding” greetings.

Embassy Review : The interview phase done by the American consul was easy. He only asked me 2 questions compared to the pre- screening conducted by the Filipino consul. She asked me bunch of questions Over and over. I think she was trying to check if I was consistent with my answer. They were also helpful. The American lady at the fingerprinting Has a very nice personality and even wished me luck for my interview.I’ll give a 5-star rating for US embassy Manila but will definitely give St Luke’s 2-star rating.
Rating : Very Good

POE Review: Seattle
Event Description
Entry Date : 2019-01-16
Embassy Review : There was a glitch in the system during my time, the Ks and the I’s doesn’t show up in their system, so I was called in to a room for manual verification. The CBP officer was super nice, just asked me if do I have a kid. After 2 mins, I was out there. She gave me a very warm “welcome to the United States” and so with her colleague who was also verifying some documents. They also congratulated me on my upcoming wedding. It was definitely a great experience.
Harassment Level : Low

Hello, sa 27 na po interview mo? Hindi muna aantayin ang eligibility letter mo? Kasi marami ng na reschedule dahil nag interview ng wala pang letter from the embassy eh..

I have a friend who just went through the k1 process and she told me, she didn’t have the eligibility letter when she showed up for the interview. I’ve done some reading here on VJ, too and none was mentioned. Cheers!

Hi @Bon and Bellarose.. we didn’t make a call. We just waited for NVC to inform us via email. The only time my fiancé rang them is when we asked for our case number 2 weeks after their notification.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
