Event Description

Embassy Review : Our appointment was at 7 am we got there 5:30 AM we waited across the street Paid $100 JMD to sit ..we made sure that we didn’t bring any items that did not belong an embassy such as pens liquid products phones electronics thumb drives etc..we were the first one in the line however 4 people were able to go in front of us we had the 4th number however numbers like 18 and 20 were being called before us the first window it was a woman she called us up to show our documents she asked for a police report for my 16-year-old his birth certificate and my marriage certificate uh oh!! it was NOT in my file I mistakenly left it in the US ...at this time I was very upset with myself but the young lady made me feel better and put me at ease and just told me that she would make an appointment for me following Tuesday to bring the document in and I could go to the local office to get a copy. At this point I was sure that my sons visa would be delayed and again still upset with myself. we waited in about 45 minutes later we were called to a window or young man very nice he had sent back a couple of people are missing documents so my son and I just looked at each other left and say hey we’re going to get the same thing to because we already knew we were missing a document he asked my son how old he was happy he ever flew outside of Jamaica and has he ever been arrested then he turned to me and asked me if I was a stepmother and if I still lived with his father and then he says visa is approved you will get it within a week my eyes open wide I was shocked because I had expected him to say that he needed the marriage certificate like the first lady said ..we were so happy we just dashed out of there hugged each other and decided to trick his father by telling him the first story until the joke wasn’t funny anymore so we told him we got it I am bringing my son home a couple days..

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
