Consulate Review: Islamabad, Pakistan
Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : April 10, 2018
Embassy Review : Interview was scheduled at 7:00 AM.
I reached the shuttle service area at 5:45 AM and waited in the line of vehicles until at 6:00 AM they opened the gates.

Further 2 small lines were formed to enter into building after parking the car. (plenty of FREE car parking area inside)

Car ticket 1000 PKR
Bus ticket 500 PKR

But buses won't be available until 7:30 AM and onward so if your interview is early, you will have to take the car ticket.

Sat in car with two other applicants (total 3 applicants and one driver each car) at 6:45 AM and by 7:05 AM reached embassy.

Again, a small line, they gave token based on visa class and asked to sit inside.

Counter 1 asked for original documents.

Counter 2 asked for bio metrics.

I was provided with a document mentioning rights etc.

It was almost an hour until my token number appeared for the interview.
By that time, most of the people i saw at the shuttle area had reached embassy now waiting for their numbers.

Interview question:
Who is petitioning you?
How long have you two known each other
How did you two meet?
How many people at your wedding?
Show me some pictures. (i had taken a total of 6 pictures from various point in time with certain family and friends)

CO said all seems fine, just send me any proof that your spouse had no income in the US.

Got out of embassy, the shuttle cars are always working in a loop from station to embassy to station and so on. I had to wait only 5 mins untill the next car came and i went back to the shuttle area.

Sent the required document and visa got issued within a few days.

Tips: Make eye contact with CO while answering. DO not try to explain your answers to use further information which is not asked for. Be calm, straight forward and truthful always. 221G form is not a denial, its a temporary refusal, don't panic.
Rating : Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
