Embassy Review : My fiance had his interview yesterday and it was a very stressful day. He had to complete an online form DS-160 before setting up his interview. On that form it asks for the location of interview. He was supposed to put Paris even though he is Portuguese and his embassy is in Lisbon (But they do not complete these visas). So my fiance put Lisbon instead. He completed that form 2 months prior to the interview and we did not get anything back so we thought we were ready for the interview. The day before the interview, while my fiance was flying to Paris from Lisbon, we received an email stating that he needs to fix the on line form by 2:00 pm local Paris time or his interview will be cancelled and rescheduled for next month. I am in the U.S. reading this and not able to contact my fiance because he is in the air with no phone service. So I emailed the embassy back saying that he will need to fix it after the 2:00 deadline because he is flying. As soon as my fiance contacted me, I informed him of the problem and he showed up at the embassy as soon as it opened and was able to make the corrections on his DS-160 and was able to do his interview as scheduled. I wish they could have contacted us sooner about the mistake!

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
