Embassy Review : Since I'm a portuguese citizen I had to attend my interview at Paris.

I arrived the day before and checked in on an Hotel near the embassy. On the morning of the interview I went for some breakfast although it was hard to eat anything with anxiety
Because it was early I decided to walk there instead of taking the subway.

On the outside of the embassy you have clear signs indicating where you need to go for the Visa interview.

On the outside you pass the first security check and a employee helps you organize the required papers to pass that step (ds160, passport, medical and police report).

There is a second security check where you leave your cellphone. I was only carrying the documents but inside there were people with small backpacks and messenger bags, so they are allowed.

Because I was in the last slot for the interview times the line for the first window (identification) was very long, I needed to wait for arround 1h30/2h standing on a line to get to my turn. Everyone was nice and professional.

At the first window it was a little hard to communicate since it was a local employee with a very thick accent (I don't speak french) but it went ok.

After that I was called right away to the officer's window. It tooked only 3 minutes, it was very fast comparing to most of other applicants, but for what I gather most of them were not there for K1.

The officer asked me very simpe questions about my fiancé, when we were planning to marry and asked me to show a few pictures.

After that and seeing I was a little nervous he said "Don't worry, your visa is already approved, I just need to finish a few checks on the computer".

He then wished me good luck and congratulated me for the wedding and I left the embassy, collected my phone and spent the rest of the day visiting Paris before my flight home.

Overall a good and positive experience except for the money I had to spent.
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
