Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description

Embassy Review : My fiancee is from Mexico City so she was able to do her medical and ASC interview in Mexico City.

The medical exam went well in Mexico City. We got there at about 7am and everything was ready for pick up by 2pm. Be careful because even if you have your vaccinations they will try to get more money out of you by making you get a few vaccines anyways. Just make sure not to open the black package with your results! It is a very fragile plastic package and would be very easy to open.

She then had her ASC appointment in Mexico City as well and it was very easy. She said it took probably 10 minutes to get everything done.

My fiancee had her interview on a friday here in Juarez. I flew into El Paso on Thursday and my Fiancee flew into Ciudad Juarez on the same day. We went to the hotel, got checked in and spent the day double checking every document. Also her interview was originally scheduled for August 2nd but we constantly checked and were able to find a cancellation and reschedule the appointment for July 20th. It is always worth checking because cancellations do happen and interviews open up!

Her interview was at 8:45am but we got there at about 8:15 and they let her right in. Make sure to bring a copy of every document and to bring anything you can possibly think of. You don't want to be the person that gets rejected for forgetting a small document. My fiancee was finished by about 10:15 am and had the green half sheet of paper! She was approved!

In the interview she had to wait in a line for about an hour to hand all the documents at the information window. She then waited another hour and said most of the CO's were young ladies but she got a nice old man, probably a grandpa. She said he was very nice to her and he asked her the following questions:

- Who is your sponsor?
- How did you and your fiance meet?
- What does your sponsor do for a living?
- Where did you and your fiance meet?
- Who is your cosponsor?
- Do you have any wedding plans?
- Proof of an on going relationship?

The CO looked at the scrapbook of our relationship and also all of our wedding plans! He said congratulations and approved the visa!

Her visa was approved on friday and we had her visa in hand by monday! We got the email around 12pm and went and picked it up!

Overall it was a great experience.
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
