Local US CIS Office Review: Los Angeles CA
Review Topic: cis_topic
Event Description
Review Date : December 21, 2018
Embassy Review : Our appointment time was 12.30pm, we arrived almost an hour before that time at the federal building, there was nobody in line for security. We were called about 1.15pm, about 45 min after our appointment time. We parked at Aiso street, as others had suggested.

The officer was very pleasant. He swore us in, asked for our ID's and took my fingerprints and photo. He then asked me my full name, DOB and mailing address, and my husband's full name and DOB and went over my entries while on AP. I'd accidentally put my husband's DOB on the form in dd/mm/yyyy style, he corrected that. He also had me confirm the answers from the yes/no questions on the I-485.

He asked my husband his full name, DOB and mailing address and if he'd ever been arrested. My husband was arrested for a misdemeanour once more than two decades ago. They talked about that a little bit.

He checked all the original papers we'd brought against the copies we'd submitted (birth certificates, marriage certificate and ID's). He asked us if we'd brought anything to add, we had. He took our tax returns, credit card and bank statements, went through them and added them to our file. Same for the circa 40 photos we brought and the car title, sales contract and loan information. We'd also brought tickets, boarding passes and wedding contracts, he didn't need to see that or add it to our file.

He didn't ask any other question about how we met or anything like that. He printed out our approval letter and explained the next steps.

Overall, a very good experience and parking was only 5 dollars :D
Harassment Level : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.

** Not all cases are transfered
