Embassy Review : First of all, everyone in this embassy is absolutely nice and very helpful, but I still had some problems, which made me give them only 3 stars.

After I finally got the pack 4 from the embassy, I instantly looked up available interviewdates, but since it was only 2 weeks before christmas their next free appointment was january 10th. This really made me sad so me and my fiance decided that I will just get a later interview date in january and fly over to america for a month to celebrate christmas and new years with my lovely human.
My interviewdate was the 17th of january, so I decided to fly back from Washington DC to Frankfurt on the 15th, arrived in germany on the 16th and stayed in the hotel "villa am wasserpark" overnight because its very close to the embassy.
My appointment on this thursday was 8.45 and I arrived at the embassy around 8.15 and decided to go in there. I picked the second line and instantly went to the first window and gave the lady my appointment letter and my passport. After that I needed to go through security. I knew they dont allow smartphones and electronic devices in the embassy but the girl in front of me was allowed to leave her phone in one of the boxes behind the security. (So if you really need to bring it, you can!).
After that you go to two different windows. When i arrived at the second window inside, the officer went through all my stuff with me, explained how the package with the visa is gonna look and etc.. Until then everything went fine and well, until the officer told me to come back to his window and explained me that he had problems with my file and he can try to fix it if i fill out a new DS form and bring it to him. So i went to the computer in that hall and started to type all my stuff in again, luckily i was being able to retrieve most of my data and so it only cost me about 20 extra minutes. After that i went back to the officer, gave him the new DS and he told me to sit down again. After about 10 minutes he lifted up his thumb and showed me that it worked...or atleast he thought it did.
So after a while it was time for my interview. The officer was very nice but let me know right at the beginning of the interview that he doesnt know if we can finish this today since he cant verify my fingerprints for the oath due a system error. But he still asked me to lift up my arm and do the oath. After that he asked me 3 questions:
- when did you and your fiance meet
- do you have children
- how did he propose
after that he was done with the interview. He was smiling and we were kinda chatting about the meeting situation since he knew what twitch and streaming was.
Then i needed to sit down again and he tried to call the tech support to fix that fingerprint problem. When he called me back to his window, he told me he cant approve me without the oath confirmation and gave me a refusal note with "oath missing". He also told me he cant tell me how long this is gonna take until this is fixed and i should write them in two weeks.

At this point it was just too much for me, because this process has been hard for me and my fiance because we actually work together since im editing his videos and we were only being able to keep up the workflow while i was in america, since i had a good internet connection there and also my editing pc. So i left with tears in my eyes the embassy.
Since I didnt want to wait 2 weeks, i reached out to them on friday (1 day after my interview) and asked if there is any new information on the error. The embassy then responded to me on tuesday and told me everything is fixed and i should go ahead and schedule a new appointment.
And prolly a lot of you know that scheduling appointments costs 265 dollars so i responded to them that i cant schedule it without paying the fee again. I already live 4 hours away and ended up wasting 90euro more for the second time driving to the embassy.
When i told them that, i also said: please give me the next free appointment, even if its the next day in the morning.
On wednesday they responded to me and gave me luckily an appointment for the next day which was thursday and exactly one week after my first interview.
So i left at 3am at home and drove to the embassy, to be there around 9 am. My appointment was at 9.30 and my heart already dropped again, when the lady couldnt find me on her list and needed to do a phonecall before finally letting me into the embassy again. From here it went very fast. The officer from my first interview instantly told me to come to his window (despite 4 people already waiting for their interview). He apologized for the travel and all the problems, took the oath and fingerprints from me and told me i was approved and im good to go.
You cant believe how happy I was when he said that especially after this full week of being afraid my case is gonna stay at the embassy for weeks/months.

POE Review: Baltimore
Event Description
Entry Date : 2019-02-06
Embassy Review : I never had a problem with entering the US at the BWI Airport in Washington. My expierences as k1 and also esta holder was always pleasant.

One tip: try to sit in the first rows of the plane, so youre one of the first people going through immigration. If youre using WOW-Air, the plane always arrives as the only one, so the immigration lines are kinda small.

Esta:
- automated process
- officer asks: how long are you gonna stay, what are you doing here?
- I always told them "visiting my fiance" and never had a problem!

K1:
- visas and trusted travelers are on the right side
- gave officer my passport and the package
- he took fingerprints of my right hand and took a picture
- then i needed to go to the secondary and was waiting for about 5 minutes by myself
- two officers entered and were already like "oh its just a k1", i guess they expected something else
- they opened my petition, and one of them made a funny comment about the DUI on our petition and asked what alcohol we like lmao
- question was: when will you get married? i said: idk yet, but within the next 90 days
- passport was stamped, one of them told me i have time to marry until may and thats it
Harassment Level : Low

Another Feb filer in Germany! Are you still waiting for P4? My fiancé sent P3 back last Monday. Im so nervous for the next part!
Toastbear on 2018-12-08 said:
Hey yeah that’s why I followed your Timeline. Sadly we had some problems with getting that tax return so I sent my pack 3 really late which was the Thursday before you sent yours. So it’s just a few days apart and I was wondering if you guys get a notification earlier than me. Weirdly enough the case tracker told me the case was updated on Thursday and on Friday again. Is this the case for you too?
blank avatar Americaninlove on 2018-12-08 said:
For me it tells me it’s been updated every day that I look at it lol. He sent P3 back same day he got it but I’m convinced he screwed something up and they will come back needing something else. Hard to imagine as it was like a 5-lb stack of paper!! And then the day of mourning on Wednesday adds an extra day. I just looked at all these other German timelines and it seems that many people get the P4 back in just a few days after sending P3. Don’t know how that’s even possible! But for us every step seems to take twice the average so I’m hoping it comes back late next week!? At this rate he will not interview until January anyway so I suppose it doesn’t matter but I just want it over with already!! Are you the beneficiary in Germany?
Toastbear on 2018-12-08 said:
Yeah I’m very disappointed. This tax shit completely f* us over. I wanted to be there for Christmas :(. And yes I have seen other people getting their pack 4 within 2 days of sending pack3. Yeah I’m the beneficiary in Germany :). Remember we had this rfe which got approved in like 5 days. I was way ahead of you guys but sadly I needed to wait almost a month to send back the p3. It’s my fiancés fault but with his income he wanted to have someone professional doing his taxes so he kinda slacked and put it behind other things since March ._.
blank avatar Americaninlove on 2018-12-08 said:
That sucks. This whole process sucks!!! I remember your RFE of course. Our case has been so simple and yet taken so long at every step for NO REASON. An RFE asking for a letter of intent to marry that was in the original application. Then four weeks for RFE to get approved. Then four weeks to get to NVC. Then missed the shipment by a day. Two more weeks to get to Germany. It’s just been so slow! So I’m just assuming there will be some issue with the P3 or it will just take forever for no reason. We will see!! Hopefully we will both get the P4 this week. I saw another profile has an appointment set up for 12/20. But then who knows how long they close for the holiday. It will be a great 2019!!

Yes but rn I’m trying to not lose my hope for my interview being this year still. I need to drive 4 hours to Frankfurt but I’ll take whatever day it is. Even if it’s the next day from booking it. I just wanna be back with my fiancé because my dog is already there too and i got a puppy for us here and we both just wait to go home. Germany doesn’t feel like my home anymore, just a waitingroom at this point since my stuff is already in America too ;(
blank avatar Americaninlove on 2018-12-08 said:
Oh that’s right you’re with your grandmother, right? I remember the dog. It will be soon!! I think you still have a good shot at December interview. Frankfurt seems well run and smooth. My fingers are crossed for you!!!! We are so close. Don’t lose hope yet!
Toastbear on 2018-12-08 said:
Thank you so much. Yeah i just recently moved to my parents because of the new puppy. My grandma has only carpet in the house and i dont want the puppy to ruin it lmao. But at my mums i have a terrible internet connection which makes me wanna go back even more. its just aids and really hard on our relationship too because jamie (my fiance) is alone in our 4 bedroom house and also needs to take care of my dog, while being selfemployed and working 24/7. But sometimes when he complains how stressful it is without me (im video editing and manging for him), then i always tell him that its his own fault for not doing taxes earlier :D How are your plans? If your fiance gets an interview, is he gonna fly the next day or are you still gonna wait for a certain timeframe. Im planning to fly within 2 days after getting my passport back, no matter what the costs are.

He is going back to Ireland right before Christmas to be with his family and hopefully can get an interview first week of January and fly from Ireland right back to Frankfurt for the interview. Then it seems to be about a week until they mail the passport back, so he would go home and pack up everything and clean out his apartment. His lease is up end of January so that would work well. One way tickets from Frankfurt to philly are insane...$2000!! He will probably get a round trip and buy the return for August and hope he can leave the country then! This whole process and no ability to plan is just so hard and stressful. He’s stressing about not being able to work when he’s here more than anything else. Work is his life! So that will be hard. But this will all go by fast I’m sure. You guys do a YouTube thing if I remember correctly?
Toastbear on 2018-12-08 said:
Oh yeah see you guys have a little bit more time. Im just sitting here praying i can fly around christmas lmao. And yes we do youtuber together, which is good so we dont have that problem with me not being able to work for a few months. About the flight, i wouldnt book a single trip. Just book a roundtrip and cancel the flight after he arrived in america. Thats what we prolly gonna do. Because keeping the returntrip doesnt make sense, because he has to book another flight to the us again. Actually 2k doesnt sound too bad. When i looked with lufthansa it was about 3k lmao.
