Local US CIS Office Review: San Antonio TX
Review Topic: cis_topic
Event Description
Review Date : November 7, 2019
Embassy Review : We had our AOS interview on 11/04, this past Monday @ USCIS San Antonio field office. We waited about 40 minutes past our scheduled time. Sign on the wall said if you wait longer than 45 minutes in the waiting room to contact a supervisor, but they grabbed us right before I was getting anxious.

Interview took about 23 minutes and was super easy. Basically he asked all the questions on the form, like "are you a terrorist" and "have you ever made bombs" and other things he warned us could be offensive or ridiculous. He said it's standard procedure and explained it very nicely.

He also said we were in a genuine relationship and he expects to approve us but needed to do a final background check and get his supervisor's final approval. He said it could take up to 4-5 weeks.

We were disappointed to hear it would take so much longer and that we weren't approved immediately. I was hoping to get a notification email or text, saying approved. But nothing yet.
Harassment Level : Good

10/01/2018 - Received RFE, which arrived in mail on 10/07/2018. They needed me to prove US citizenship because my birth certificate was a re-issued one. I sent the RFE response today, 10/09/2018 with a photocopy of my original birth certificate.

10/16 @ 11:30 PM, I was notified via text message that USCIS received our RFE response. I expect NOA2 this week? or soon...

10/30/2018 - I received our NOA2 in the mail. They did not notify us via email or text message, like they did for our RFE. I suspect our NOA2 has been sitting in my mailbox for 2-3 days now. It would be nice if USCIS was consistent in their communication channels, but whatever.

Hi, I also recieved a RFE and have been waiting for NOA2 since Dec. 3rd, when they recieved my RFE reply. I keep hearing it takes 92 days for processing after RFE. Did it really only take a week for you to have an approval after RFE reciept? Did you do premium processing or standard? I heard about premium but dont have that option.

Hi, did you do anything special to get the interview on 1/24/2019? We're checking the site few times a day and there was nothing open there today. The last time (11/27/2018) the date was open for a few days... Thanks!

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
