Consulate Review: Islamabad, Pakistan
Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : September 27, 2019
Embassy Review : Hi guys,

So basically my Spouse visa interview was on the 26th at 730AM. You goto the shuttle place at like 6.get on and get to the embassy. My wife (petitioner) was with me. This is her 4th trip to Pakistan in a year and she has spent a combined of like 8.5 months here on and off over a 16 month periods since we got married. So I am very lucky her job is such that it allows her this freedom. Anyway, so usual stuff at the interview. They ask for all the documents at two different windows. I would definitely advise take your official IRS Tax Transcript with you. For the last 3 years. Even if you are not asked on NVC u havveee to take this document. Its easily available on the IRS website. So I submitted all the docs. They made us wait around 3 hrs for our turn. They called our token number. We went to the window together and then then told my wife that she can sit and they would be asking me a few questions. She sat close by so that she could hear...

They asked me the following questions:
What's your wife name?
Were you either of you previously married? In my case I was.
Name of your ex?
When did you get married to her?
When did u get divorced?
Why did you get divorced?
How did you meet your current wife?
When did you meet her and how did the you guys end up getting married?
What date did you get married?
How many people were there at your marriage?
What is your wife's occupation?
What is your occupation?

Then he said your visa is APPROVED you should have your passport back in a week or two. I was honestly in shock! Couldn't believe it. Total interview was 5 mins. He definitely saw the relief on my face when he said that. Anyway I would suggest dress professionally it makes a big difference. Also I can't stress enough that you must practice your English speaking. Anyway my whole process took exactly 13 months and 6 days. Today my visa status on CEAC changed to ISSUED. also I know its not compulsory for the petitioner to be there for the interview but I would definitely suggest being there. It send the right message to them. It's an important day in a couples life and they should attend together.

Anyway I know there are loads of sad stories and reviews on the Islamabad CR1 and K1 reviews page but be positive. And front load as much as possible at the i-130 stage. Pics emails chat history's anything and everything. It's there job to sniff out anything strange and if you are honest and your intentions are clean you should get the visa. Hang in there guys! Wish you all the best of luck on your journeys. Thank you to visajourney.com for being the best support group on the planet!!

I'm not sure to be honest. When I completed my DS260 it asked me for a police certificate from Pakistan. So I got it. But I later learnt that according to the State Dept website police certificates from Pakistan are not required since they cannot be verified in Pakistan. But basically I got one anyway. Had to get quite a few in my case as I have moved around alot.

Congratulations! First of all. I am the petitioner for a spouse visa. As of yesterday, all of our documents has qualified and accepted at NVC. The email we received says that NVC will work with ISB embassy to schedule the interview. My question is, in your case, how long was the duration between documents acceptance at NVC and interview schedule email? I hope for a prompt response. Best regards.
blank avatar Az&Naz on 2019-10-03 said:
NVC documentarily qualified to interview email was around 4 weeks. And then another 4 weeks for the actual day of the interview. So total 8 weeks from where you are now.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
