Consulate Review: Dominican Republic
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : February 6, 2019
Embassy Review : Everything was well organized. We came prepared with a binder filled with evidence but was never asked to show any of it. I believe it was because we frontloaded our petition. I the petitioner was only asked 3 questions. Where and when I met Adrian, how many times I’ve been to RD and if ive met his family. That’s absolutely it!! I think it helped that I’ve been there seven times. After that question it seemed like he already made his decision to approve our petition.
Rating : Good

They didn’t look at any affidavit of support or any additional evidence i brought. Just asked me three questions and said approved. A week weekends included.

Hey question... i see u are dominican republic also lol. I have recieved the case# and invoice#, and i have also completed the ds160 and paid the visa fee. Can I scheudule the embassy interview, finger prints and medical now? Or is it safe to wait until the case is "in transit" from the NVC to embassy. I am reading different ways to do it. I dont want to mess it up lol any help would be great!

they usually send them out to the embassy every two weeks. If you schedule the interview more than two weeks from today i say do it!! I know a lot of people who did it before it was ready, myself included and we all were fine.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
