Consulate Review: Bogota, Colombia
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : April 15, 2007
Embassy Review : Real quick: I highly recommend based on my personal observations that if you are doing a K1 the petitioner SHOULD fly down for the interview. I flew down. All I witnessed were girls being questioned for long periods of time and leaving crying or had to return with more information. The ones who's fiances flew down were all approved and approved within minutes. I was asked for my passport to see if I actually saw my fiance the times I did.

It was not a bad experience for us but I did see it was for those who did not have their fiances present. In any event, if anyone would like my wife, who is from San Gil & Bogota, to post what she thought of the whole process in Spanish so your fiances can read it, just let me know and I will have her do it. Thanks...and good luck. We are living happily in Las Vegas, married and with a child on the way.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
