My name is Zainab. Wanna share my today experience at the US consulate Lagos.
My interview time was 6:45am but I got to the embassy 4:30am as I leave on the mainland and won't want to be stucked in d early morning Monday traffic. So, I already booked uber that came to pick me up by 3:45am.
When I got to the consulate , I just met one person (elderly woman like70 yrs old) already waiting, her son came with her dou. By 5:30am , people were already many. Exactly 6am, the securities begin the checking. Did I tell you I was with my 9months old baby? Lol. I finally got inside d embassy n was number 16. I was called upon, did my biometrics and submitted all my original documents to a Nigerian lady.
I waited for some min again n was finally called by d consular. She was a young friendly American lady. She asked d following questions.
Who is calling you to d US
Where did you meet
What happened after you met
Where does he work n what post he holds
Where does he live in d US
How long has he been in d US
On which visa category did he traveled to uS
Has any of you been married before
Can I see your wedding album n she asked who were d people at d registry. She was smiling and enjoying my response
Finally, she said can I see your son's US original birth certificate.
Next thing she said was, you are approved and she handed 3 white papers to me as usual. And explained how I will pick up my visa after 10working days.
