Consulate Review: Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : September 29, 2018
Embassy Review : After a long wait (approx. 4 hr) and various lines we made, we had an extremely short interview. The interviewer asked my fiancee (through an interpreter) approx. 10 questions, very general (all within the information we provided in our application), then spoke to her in english as it was the language I normally communicate with my fiancee and then turned to me and asked me 3 questions about her family to ensure I knew her and what I was getting into. Then said very casually "congratulations, she will get her visa in the mail." We couldn't believe it and had to ask him again to make sure we didn't hear him wrong. We asked him twice whether the interview was over as it was only 2 mins.

FYI... the waiting area has no air conditioning so going with long sleeves, suit and tie was awful, but I think that when you look like you're dressed to impress, they will also look at that too; Be sure you answer confidently. Although you may think that the Consular Officer may make you very nervous, ours was actually very nice and reasonable.

Overall, the interview felt easier as I was there (saw someone that went alone crying as she was denied). Best investment of my life!!!
Rating : Very Good

POE Review: JFK
Event Description
Entry Date : 2018-05-17
Embassy Review : Passing immigration was a breeze. After being pulled aside, immigration officer was able to clear my fiancee with no issues after she gave the immigration officer the package she received in the mail.

She actually had more issues with the immigration officers in Vietnam.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.

** Not all cases are transfered
