Consulate Review: Kuwait
Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : May 9, 2018
Embassy Review : My interview was scheduled at 1.00pm...I reached there at about 12.30pm...i took a token and the officer there told me be seated...at about 12.50 pm a lady officer came and asked us to form a queue, she arranged us in ascending order of the token no. I was the first one to enter...they scanned all my documents that i was carrying....once I entered the consular office the assistant there asked me to taken a token according to my need...i took the token for immigrant visa service and then i was asked to wait for my no.to be called out...
About 10 minutes later my token no.was flashing at a counter...i went up to the counter a lady officer was at the seat...she asked my name i told my name she misheard it as someone else and she was like why didn't the rest of family come..i told her that i am alone...then she asked my name again i repeated again and then she was like sorry i misheard that one....she then told me to give her all the original documents that were requested....i gave her my passport, photo, our marriage certificate, my birth certificate, Indian & Kuwait PCC....she then asked me a few questions:
1. Was i married before?
2. Was my husband married before?
3. Where does my husband stay?
4. Where does he work?
5. How long did i know my husband?
6. How long have we been married?
7. Do i work?where and as what?
8. When did i meet him last?
9. Where was our marriage held?
10. Did i live anywhere else other than Kuwait?
11. Again she asked was my husband married?....I was kind of shocked why is she asking that again....then she was like in the i864 it is mentioned his household size is 3 i told her he had co-sponsored his bro-in-law she asked again with whom does he stay and where do intent to stay once i am in US?
While the questioning was going on she was cross checking all the original documents with the one my husband had send to the NVC....then she gave me back few documents telling that they do not require it in the packet...and then told me to be seated and that i will be called in for interview....i went and took my seat....
After 10mnts i heard my name being called out, i went in to that counter...there in the counter was a male officer....he asked me was his mike sound audible for me and whether is it too loud....then he asked me to hold up my right hand nd take the oath....then he told me that he was going to take finger prints and how to place my fingers and all....after that he told me like hes going to ask me a few questions..he asked
1. How long have i been in Kuwait?
2. Do i stay here with my family?
3. Do i work? Where and as what?
4. How long have i known my husband?
5. How long have u been married?
6. Was it arranged or love marriage?
7. Where was our wedding held?
8. Where does my husband work?
9. What do i intent to do once i am in US?
Then he was like ‘i dont have any more questions....let me see” and then he was searching something in his system and then he was like everything is sorted out ....the papers are in place....and he was like “i like it when everthing is in place”....
Then he told me the magical words “Congratulations!!Your visa is approved”.

Then he verified my mob no.and he told the embassy will call once the packet/visa is ready, to pickup my passport.
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
