Consulate Review: Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : March 26, 2018
Embassy Review : Our appointment time was 8:30AM, we arrived about 8:10AM, show the appointment printout to the guard so you can go inside, the line is for tourist visa applicants don't wait behind them. Airport type security check, then the office is on the second floor, you need to go up some stairs. Once there we were given a sheet of paper that listed the required documents and what order to put them in. There is a desk you can sit at and sort things, once done we returned them to the agent. Shortly after we were called to a booth were they compare your original documents to the copies you brought and make sure you have everything required. The originals were returned to us and we were asked to sit down and wait for the consular interview. After a while the consular called us up, asked 3-4 questions, were did we meet? What kind of work does fiance do? when were we planning on traveling to the states? Fiancee was asked to sign a form that she understands we cannot get married until after she enters USA. He then told us we were approved and congratulations. Everyone was very courteous, very professional. We were done by 9:20am.
Rating : Very Good

Do you know if your I-765 and I-131 were filed at Texas Service Center or National Benefits Center after they were sent to Chicago lockbox?

Or California Service Center since you’re in CA?

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.

** Not all cases are transfered
